LISTENING TO SOMEONE THAT DOESNT KNOW MY BODY...good friday morning..my friend that comes over to ride my trainer when the weather isnt the greatest was tellin me how i need to drink protein after i do my 20 miles ride or when i do hills..i know from most articles that drinking protein shakes for most people is good to recover from..however..i also know my body..an when i drink a protein shake after my workout..i gain weight..not the first time ive drank protein shakes..but i know how my body reacts if i drink a protein shake or any kind of a recovery shake after my workouts..well for some stupid reason i listened to him yesterday after i did a ride..did a 18.8 mile ride..an i was tired..an i for some stupid reason let my guard down an drank a protein shake...guess what the result was...yeap..my weight was up 1 pound this morning..soon as i drank it..my mind was saying..why did you do that..you know better..o well...gonna put the protein powder back in cabinet on top shelf outta site..i just cant drink protein powder and it work for me like it does for most...

todays my day off to rest..when i should be on bike/trainer working off that 1 pound i foolishly drank yesterday..but im tryin my best to rest an live with the upswing..

finally quit raining in illinois...sun is shinning..an wind is fierce today..wind is blowin like 20 miles an hour an temp is mabye 50 something..its a cold wind..but...ITS NOT RAINING... yeahhhhhhh....ground is so wet..and grass needs to be cut..but not today..

well...ive vented about the protein..lesson learned..dont listen to someone just cause it works for them...different bodys burn differently then others..if it was that simple..would only be one plan that worked for everyone...

Those shakes are processed garbage as are protein bars. I honestly don't get what is wrong with eating food in its natural form.

You're absolutely correct, Wanna! It's taken some doing for each of us to know what works for us and what doesn't.

This process for me has been about learning how my body works and what works for my body. When people offer advice I don't want, I usually listen, nod, sometimes even ask questions, then promptly ignore it! :)
