If you know you have an addictive personality, choose a healthy addiction. I didn't weigh myself this morning because I was staying in a hotel for a business meeting. I could've brought my scale with me, but my PT is encouraging me to literally step away from the scale. It will probably prove difficult tomorrow morning, but I'm sure I have the will power. It all comes down to choice. Choice: : the act of picking or deciding between two or more possibilities : the opportunity or power to choose between two or more possibilities : the opportunity or power to make a decision : a range of things that can be chosen Source: Merriam-Webster's Learner's DictionaryThe choices we make dictate our future. I made the choice over and over again to allow my emotions to control me and I would gorge on anything I wanted. I had no concept of coincidences for my glutenous actions. I would feel out of control of my actions because I was a slave to my emotional behavior.
Now I fully understand that I have the power and an on going opportunity to choose the final outcome. Every day (sometimes it breaks down into moments) I have a choice to make that will help me towards my goal, or not. I have to learn to be disciplined and take responsibility for my failures. Only then will I be able to develop into the person I truly want to be, internally & externally.

Great entry! I wish I had read this before I had those fried chicken livers, roll and gravy last night! You're right. It is about choice.

Exactly - it is about choice! This week I'm on vacation, and I'm making the choice to get up and WALK every day that I'm out of town for a minimum of 30 minutes and drink 8 + glasses of water per day..... I'm also making the decision to indulge in my favorite pie and not feel guilty- and continue to write down my foods.
