Annabelle3117's Journal, 27 Oct 15

Hey buddies! Well that weekend sucked, ate fast food, twice. Doesn't get much more unhealthy than that (except maybe eating it three times) but it was a chaotic mess of a weekend.

Friday night my daughter had a friend stay the night. Saturday night my daughter had a majorette performance at the local band review. We got rained on, it was cold, and by the time we got out of there it was after 9pm and everyone was starving. On Sunday I took my grandma's cats to be spayed/neutered at a low cost clinic. Unfortunately that clinical is an hour drive away. So my mom kept the kiddos Sunday evening (because I couldn't drop them off until 6pm per the clinic) and the husband and I again grabbed dinner at the drive thru while we were en route to the clinic. Monday night we made the drive again to pick up the cats and deliver them to grandma. We did not eat out yesterday. Small victory lol. I did, however, have like three honey buns... sigh. Hence the weight gain over the last month.

I have been feeling apathetic. Low motivation to say the least. My knee has been really sore. For those who don't know I do have the beginning of osteoarthritis in my knee from an injury about eight years ago. I was supposed to have an arthroscopy to clean up the joint about five years ago but insurance would only cover a very small percentage of the cost. It's no excuse, I could go to the gym and hit to pool or the exercise bike. I am just lacking the drive. I could also count my calories, could and should. Ah well, a work in progress to say the least.

This upcoming Saturday is my last clinical day for a couple months, very very excited. In this class we were required sixteen clinical days. I also had my IV therapy day which counts as one day. Rather than using that day as a free call off day during the clinical span I saved it in case of emergency, so now I get to use my free day for Sunday, being completely done on Saturday. Everyone else has to go Sunday, lol. I knew it would be worth it to save and be done a day early. Delayed gratification. If only I had the same willpower when it came to food lol.

So my sweet baby kitten is officially named Dynamite. She takes feisty to the next level, not fearing other angry cats or 84lb dogs. She's a funny little addition to my plethora of pets.

Hope all is well with my buddies, have a great Tuesday all :)

I definitely feel your pain. Stress and being busy makes it hard to stay on track. We just have to get through the stressful times, then the motivation will be easier. I'm so glad you will have some time off from clinicals soon! You've been working hard, so that break will be nice. Love the new kitten's name! Sounds very fitting. :)

My sister bought pizza which I love. I can probably eat a whole one; unlike other food. I am guilty as well :( But let's get back on track.

I guess with the change in weather the motivation has dropped as well. Don't give up. Make corrections until you get back on track. You can do this!

Good advice from CH, I think. But if you really can't find the motivation to get back on track, then maybe just try to minimise the damage till you can? I agree, autumn conditions make it harder. Some things have to be rethought. Just do the best you can, and don't beat yourself up about it!

Yes, never quit - just do your best on any given day!
