wholefoodnut's Journal, 18 Oct 15

Most of this isn't diet or exercise related, just my weekend. For those who are protesting these type of journals do not read it.. This journal is mine if you chose to read it it is your decision.

A crispy cool Sunday morning. The pups are outside for a few. Pepper (2 mo old) spent the night in her crate let her outside @ 4:30 then back in her crate until 7. Whipee!! no puppy puddles or piles to clean up this am. Serious puppy potting training has begun when I'm home.

Today I need to finish harvesting herbs today and work on the ones that I have dried this past week and do chores. Also need to do a 30 min TRX workout and take the bike out for a spin.

Yesterday the GD's varsity team won sectionals 10-2 so they are off to the state tournament!! The next game is Friday afternoon, if they win that they play SAT if so I'm off to Springfield which will be an all day trip 6 hours + driving. Will have to plan food so I'm not resorting to fast food that I don't even like. Other GD had her tryouts for the invitational competitive basketball team she played on last year and she made the team again. The boy's sports are over until wrestling.

update on 87yo neighbor: I came home in the midst of the Royal's playoff game not on TV without Fox sports channel or ESPN. had the radio on and had done a few quick things like start soup cooking and taken the pup out. Ran next door as the game was tied to make sure she had it on the radio, she didn't. Asked her if she wanted to come over and listen, which she did. Game over, Royals won, she went back home a few min after the game. I need to show her where the station is on her radio for the afternoon games this week. All good.

Glad the neighbor situation has settled into something more 'manageable' . . . Pepper's catching on quick! Must be a delight for both you and Jazzy to have her as part of the 'family' . . . what's been Gaby's reaction? Good luck with your 'to-do' list today!

Leigh, Gabby? Who knows? he's climbs about his cage, chatters, and loves attention sometimes, sometimes he doesn't. He loves it when people talk to him. FYI Gabby is a chattery little ornery Quaker parrot. He doesn't pay a lot of attention to the pups except to tell them to be quiet if they get noisy.

Such exciting times in your household, thank you for sharing. My belief is that writting is very beneficial to one's own well being and just as important to the one who is reading it. I admire and look forward to what you have to say!

Congrats to your GD for making the team again! Your fur babies and feather baby sound like they are getting along well :) Good luck with getting your herbs done. Love your post. We should never have to even think about negative comments when we write our journals. It is ours, after all.

Love the name Pepper. We had a Great Pyranees mix when I was 3 or 4 named Pepper. He was afraid of thunder storms (in Blue Springs, MO, LOL). He came leaping through a window, screen, glass and all during one. I'm sure that's why I remember him after 68 years. :-)

I love that you wrote about your every day life. I am one of those that believes I can write about what I want to on here. I usually just want to talk about my diet, but I don't feel limited. Good luck to your GD in the tournament!

Johanne, my Jazzy is scared of thunder. LOL. I'll be out toward you in a few weeks. Columbia. Great Pyraneese are so pretty. I hope he wasn't hurt crashing through the window. Lots of comments lately on other's posts re: what they are putting in their journals. I sincerely believe you can put in journals what you choose, it is your life. So much has affected my journey toward healthy and much still does. Everyday is part of it. Family, friends, what a person feels good about doing. One may not have felt good about that before. I have faced many non diet related demons that have affected my whole life thanks to friends here. I could not have lost the weight and worked on exercise without facing those demons. I still face them as they re-appear in nightmares but better now--abuse flashbacks still remain after 20+ years. Here is about the only place I can face them. I am thankful for this site as it has allowed me to do so much healing.

I love reading your posts; life affects our individual journeys. If someone does not like to read about it, I agree with you - they can skip it. Keep doing what you are doing!

Thanks everyone for your support. One of our friends here has been getting harassed for writing and posting photos in her journal. She has come such a long way on her journey and I think it's awful that a newbie here is attacking her. So many things affect one getting healthy. I never realized that until reading about the journeys others were on here. My journey has been one of facing many non diet related demons. I think positive things in your life are to be celebrated and those struggles many of us face those here will be there to help. I could not have done this journey without the support of my friends here. I do not know you in person but often are closer than those that I do. I thank you so much for that, some are no longer active. One puppy pee puddle all day. WOW!! Of course not diet related LOL

Glen, yup, Chiefs lost; grandkids have done better this past week. MMM they need to play better especially in protecting the quarterback, lots of holes both in their defense and offensive defense. I saw parts of the game. Was outside a good part of it as I took some fresh cut herbs to a neighbor (not the 87 yo one) and ended up talking to her DD. Also her GD (son is dad) was there who loves dogs, she has cats. She is Jazzy's buddy. So 5 yo met new pup and she and 2 pups ended up running and running in my back yard. So fun.

No, Pepper lived to a ripe old age, however, Grandma made sure he was closed in a barn after that if a storm was expected. :-). I want to put a photo in a journal, but it's been so long, I don't remember how. I hit the image button, but can't remember what to do. The images I want to show are TOTALLY not diet related unless you count them as mental therapy. LOL! I have a feeling the "newbie" harassing people on here has no idea what this site is all about.

Johanne, I make sure pups are inside if a storm is coming. Jazz was outside during one recently that was not predicted and I was 35 miles north at a kid football game. She has a place to get into, not sure what Pepper will do. I wasn't home through that one. I have to learn to post photos I have only changed my profile.. It's not a copy and past like many. I also do not have a digital camera working just my phone.

I look forward to reading your posts. I'm glad you and others on here are not intimidated by the "newbies". As I get older I care less what others think. I remember hearing my parents say that and couldn't quite grasp it...now I do. I'm glad to hear things are going better with your elderly neighbor. I bet you are a good neighbor to have!
