dbdmom's Journal, 22 Sep 15

I have been losing and regaining the same 3 or so pounds for the last few weeks. Not really getting anywhere. Feeling kind of down about it. Then today, I went to my kids' school to pick them up from their after-school program. On my way out, I ran into a lady who cleans at the school in the afternoons. She has been there for years, but I hadn't seen her in awhile, because my husband picks up our youngest two most days.

She stopped me and asked me about my weight loss and...well, it was wonderful. I still have another 25-30 lbs I would like to ultimately lose, but it was so DELICIOUS to hear her say things like,"You look absolutely beautiful!" And telling me that I didn't need to lose any more weight. Not true, I do, but it still made me smile.

Yes--I've made a life-long commitment/change for my *health* and to no longer be a slave to food. You're all correct--it's not about the day-to-day scale swing. It's all about the long haul.
