DairyKing's Journal, 14 Sep 15

Good Morning, FS Warriors! This is my FS anniversary. I think it's 3 years; forgot to look, just had it on my calendar that it was. Thank God it is a brand new week; I was really getting frustrated with the old one. Diet, neighbor, DW, mechanical issues; they were all wearing on me. Some things I handled well; others I didn't do so good at. So, onward and upward!

I loved the War Room movie. One of those movies where us macho men find ourselves laughing and crying through the whole thing. When I watch one of these movies, I often find myself wondering what a non believer would think of the movie, and whether or not they would enjoy, it or get anything out of it. I think everybody would enjoy this movie, and I would hope that anyone would benefit from the message in it, especially if they are married.

Yes, I blew it all to kingdom come Saturday evening. I ate buttered popcorn. I paid $4.95 extra to have the steak and baked potato, along with the buffet at Sirloin Stockage. The seafood salad was wonderful, and the spaghetti I ate afterward took my stomach to the limit of its elasticity. I overindulged, and I paid for it in guilt and discomfort afterwards. I did everything I said I was not going to do. There you have it - my confession. I was even full the next morning. Today is the beginning of a new week, and a new beginning. You didn't really think I got to where I am today by being disciplined, did you? LOL! I'm a glutton - just not as often as I used to be.

Village Board meeting tonight. Never a dull moment there. I'll find out if the insane neighbor is going to throw a tantrum tonight, or not. He's been keeping a low profile since I sent that letter, but I'm not jumping to any conclusions. I did a search of his name on the internet to see if I could find out more about his background. I found a recent resume he had submitted - more likely written by his girlfriend. If you read between the lines, you can see he hasn't been called back to work for three years. He always seems to have an adequate supply of beer on hand. He mows his yard regularly, and while he does have a pretty good sized yard, I don't think he's looked for work in the meantime. He calls me lazy; he definitely seems to have a peculiar perspective on things.

Well, I had better cut this short and get it to Press, before CNN beats me to it. Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday. :) Toodles!

Happy FS-iversary! Thanks for the movie recommendation, I'll have to try to go see it! Looks like I need to do some digging in your old journals to figure out what's up with the neighbor....?

Consider Saturday an Indulgence Day.... where anything goes and nothing is recorded, thus guilt free. Very glad to hear you enjoyed the movie. Today is a new day, CHARGE!!!!

DK, hope you are having a better start to your week. Unfortunately some people can be insane, hope the meeting went well. Glad you are still here. You and I have been on the journey about the same amount of time. My ID for the community center gym is Sept 2012. I think I joined here earlier before I became really serious about losing but didn't get active until around Sept of 2012.

DK my mouth was watering as you described your buttered popcorn at the movies then steak & baked potato and seafood salad and everything else you ate at the buffet ..... you certainly do have a way with words Sir ..... sounds like a sensational night out. I'm going to see Pixel tomorrow arv with my usual group of Wednesday ladies and I'll be taking along my own bottle of Rasberry Ketone slimming drink and a single serve size bag of air popped corn ...... nowhere near as exciting as your night out I'm afraid 😩. But I am happy to say that my weight loss remains consistent and I'm right on struck for having lost 20kg (at least) for my granddaughter's 13th birthday & my son's 40th on the 6th & 9th of November respectively ~ I haven't seen them since the same time last years just after I had both of my hips replaced and was using a walking frame ..... I want to blow 'em away with a walking tall Nanny, no stick ( which I had for two years prior to my surgery) no stooped back & only maybe 10 or 15 kg left to lose 😊. Good luck with this week's efforts although if I may say, there seems to be a bit of a pattern in your indulgence ...... it appears that you are not consuming a lot about breakfast or lunch for a large man who appears to work quite hard and you also appear to eat out a lot and eating out is such a hazard because chef's cookin' always seems to be so much more delicious than what is available at home so you simply cannot help but order up big and whoof into it with great gusto then regret it later ....... just sayin' maybe 😋 Caio for now

Isn't Warroom a wonderful movie! So powerful. I also indulge in buttered popcorn when I go to the movies. I think something about adding the oil/butter makes the glycemic index lower, because thankfully my blood sugar does not go up after I eat it. I love popcorn with butter and salt!

Haha, JB, I think you'be been reading my mail. Yep, I start the day out with good intentions, and somewhere along the way, I manage to make up for my deprivations. Wouldn't it be great if everything was reversed; the stuff you love to eat was good for you, and the stuff that was bad for you tasted like crap?!
