davidsprincess's Journal, 28 Oct 23

Thankful for fall and the weekend and a day off for my hubby who I haven't seen in forever feels like. Weight still up. Trying daily to make better choices. Made it to the gym a handful of days recently but it is the diet that I need to get under control. Looked into NOOM. Their calorie counting is atrocious so I am back to logging on FS. I'd have to spend hours at the gym to be in a deficit for the amount of calories I have been taking in a lot of days. Working on it. I'll feel so much better when I am under 200 pounds. Also trying to keep in mind that I plan to travel for my 50th birthday next year as well as our 20th anniversary and don't want to look disgusting in pics (nearly impossible given my looks) nor be winded trying to sight see. David and I don't drink (often) and so our vacations are always sight seeing and walking a lot and I don't want to be unable to keep up. Unfortunately- looking to the future at things I plan on doing have little to no impact on my choices today. It is a diet tip that has never worked for me. Going to start small and eat when I am hungry. Eating only when hungry would literally have me to a normal weight considering how often I eat for every other reason. Gross to admit but true. Chatty this morning. Need to get to it. Lots of things on the agenda today.

Hi, Wifey. No date plans- just some family fun- which I love. October is always busy for us with Halloween-y type activities.

I love the fall. I've been taking long walks for nearly a week. I'm less likely to come home and eat something bad when I've put the effort in to walk for an hour or more. You've got things coming up that could be motivating for you to stick to yourvplan.

Good luck! I have no sage advice for you, but free advice is worth every penny, right? 😂 It is a constant, unending thing for me to keep it in check, and I often wobble. This last week in particular was a bit of a blowout. You're not alone 🤗

My niece lost weight with Noom. She said the insight of why and when she overate helped her to move forward. I think it's worth a try. You talked about not being motivated by up coming plans etc? Just curious what would motivate you? You have some amazing pics of you at gym. Would putting those up help to show what you strive to be again? You know what to do and maybe go back to eating that way to lose. ( I know that's easier said than done) I support you 100% and believe in you! 💜💪💜💪

DP I was in your should from late fall 2022-spring 2023. I just wasn’t able to get back to it. Just like you I know exactly what to do. I took the help, I took the 💉 , brutal few months but I lost it. That motivated me but yeah I gotta maintain and recomp now. Baby steps. The 💉 isn’t everyone’s option and I know this may cause an uproar of comments so please no need to hijack DP’s post. It was my choice at the time. Anyways. I so wish we lived close. I’d drag yo behind to the gym and snap the fork out of your hand because I know you would do the same for me. ❤️ You will, I will, we will get back to it. I’m 50 right behind you

I've tried Noom. It's a LOT of education and it felt overwhelming to me to spend so much time on the app getting throughit all. The info is valuable. Its similar to here with logging food.

Yeah, low key. Three close friends at work are doing shots or were until the weight came off. I'm super jealous because they did so well and now just have to maintain. Actually 2 of the 3. I think the 3rd just felt sick.

Sounds like a good start. Good luck!

I was able to qualify for ozempic. It has been life changing. There are groundbreaking new drugs coming out very soon that are supposed to work even better. I know it is not for everyone but there will come a day very soon where none of us will have struggle so hard just to even get our metabolism to work normally. I am sending well wishes and understand the battle been doing it all my life until I got the shots. I drastically changed my diet and it made it easy which is really what is so helpful about it. I don’t have the food noise and cravings so I choose only to eat healthy calories where before it felt like I was punishing myself.

Just be sure to read the fine print on these drugs— it is not all roses.

Rea Rea... Sadly my metabolism works fine. I'm just gluttonous, tbh. Yes, Kenna. I'm not one for taking medication so don't think it would be for me. Something to think about though.

DP I have no business giving advice when I can’t get the scale to budge but I do want to pass on an encouraging word. In 2019 I weighed a little more than you do now and had given up on ever losing weight again. Just couldn’t talk myself into the effort (mental and physical) required. I went to visit my daughter who was studying in London and could barely keep up as we travelled about. Finally in 2021 when I had gained another 8 lb. I realized I had to try again and that’s when I found this app. This past summer on our long vacation with lots of walking I could really feel the difference with the weight gone. I know you said even the upcoming trip isn’t a big motivator but I hope you can find a couple of small things to do to get that positive mindset back and make some progress so that you can enjoy the trip more. Also, if the tempting food is not in the house you can’t eat it, right? Sending kind thoughts your way, DP.
