CatHerder's Journal, 11 Sep 15

It was a pleasant morning. The temperature was in the upper 60's with low relative humidity. It felt wonderful. It's supposed to be cooler over the weekend.

I got my 6.5 miles in. I would rate this as an easy run. I felt like I could have kept on going. I did push hard the last 1/2 mile and an all out sprint for the last 100 yds or so. Not sure if the extra energy was due to the intervals earlier in the week or the citrulline malate I started taking. Whatever it was I need to start running faster to push myself. I only want to get to 7 miles before going on vacation in early October.

Tomorrow is leg day. I'm going to push hard and up the weights where I can. It will have to wait until we get back from the vet. It still should be fun. Starting next week I'll be switching up my workout days so my long run will be on Saturday. That will mean weights on MWF and running TuThS, off Sunday.

Have a great weekend!

CH, it supposed to be cooler here too. low 60's in the am and high 80's. Ill take it. Question about your leg day.DO you do all of your legs in one day or break it down into muscle groups? My trainer has me doing all of my legs in one day but i feel like since I added squats I want to break it down and do maybe calves and glutes on another day.. Your thoughts?

The cooler temps feel great! You're doing good with running, a lot father than what I can do at this point. Have a great weekend also.

Hi Red! I do all my leg work on a single day. I basically work a body part one a week. Of course I also run 3 days a week but that only works specific muscles. I would recommend doing all your leg work on a single day. It will give them the most time to recover and grow.

It's nice when you get a perfect day! Impressed that you can do 6.5 miles and feel like you could keep going 😀 Have you got a long-term goal for how far you want to run? Or just keep trying to improve and see what you get to?
