Happy Canadian Turkey Day. In my family, we have always done dinner on Sunday, to allow those who work a day off on Monday. That was particularly important when our extended families got together, making us a family of 25!!!

Turkey is currently in the oven, my mom's tomato aspic recipe was made yesterday, my kiddo made their homemade Brötchen (German bread rolls), and I made keto pumpkin tarts. I'll also be making garlic mashed cauliflower and keto gravy.

Calories and carbs will be higher than I'd like, but OH WELL! lol

I'm thankful this year for a healthy, loving, supportive family, 30 years of marriage and returning to my Keto lifestyle.

I like the timing of Canadian Thanksgiving. US's is so close to Christmas. We traveled to Quebec City on this weekend and it was festive to have a holiday at peak foliage - beautiful hiking, and not so cold.

I always cook on Sunday too but this year I’m actually taking today OFF and decided it would be turkey today. Too much rush after church yesterday to do it and now son has to work today. Ugh. Still a rush as now I have to get it all ready early so he can eat either us before he leaves. Didn’t win this year. 😒 Hope your meal was good. Those rolls were I bet. Hmmmmm

Happy Thanksgiving!

Everything was fantastic. Ate WAY too much, and the carb count was... well it was, lol. I didn't have any of the rolls, but hubby and kiddo said they were very good. I think my keto pumpkin tarts actually tasted better *without* the whip cream, which for me is a shock, as I would drown the pie in it. Leftovers for a few nights, which is awesome in so many ways, lol. We'll more than likely do up another turkey for the US Thanksgiving, depending on my mood, although it won't be until the weekend, as hubby now has to go "in" to the office. UGH! Happy Thanksgiving folks.

@Windy, we don't have the big family anymore. Both my parents have passed, and they were the glue that bound us together. Fine by me, as I like it just the three of us... plus more turkey for me! Hahaha

I understand, both my parents have passed as well as my husband. Holidays arent what they used to be for sure. But I hear you, sometimes I rather enjoy the simplicity of small get togethers as well. :)

I cannot stand whipped cream! I always scrape it off all my desserts. So I’d have loved your pie!
