I'm getting lazy in the mornings! I wake early - I was up this morning at 4 and had 2 cups of coffee. Fed Bobby and the cats around 5:30 and also porch kitty, who didn't eat much. Kept thinking about getting dressed and going out for a walk while it was still cool outside. But didn't actually bet ready and outside until 7:30. Only walked about 30 minutes but included a hill in the walk. My goal is get back to walking 3-5 miles most days but I'm just not motivated enough right now.

Took a day off from packing stuff up and decided to keep the coffee table I had posted on Nextdoor for free. It has 4 glass panels on top and I get so tired of cleaning the glass. But it is pretty and I spent money having it refinished several years ago. My mom gave it to me years ago, she loved furniture with glass tops. I have lots more furniture I don't want to move with including an oak entertainment center that takes up so much space. I don't think they are even made anymore. I bought it back when a big TV was a 25 inch console that just barely fit. Now I have a CD player and receiver in it, that I rarely use. I have wine glasses and wine bottles in the other half of it. Moving is hard work!

I made spaghetti today after seeing on TV that the Spaghetti Factory in the Sacramento area was 30 years old, so I had spaghetti on my mind. Ate too much but will do better tomorrow.

We have an old entertainment center I love. Hard to let go of for free.

Thanks Morticia, I don't think there will be room for it in my new house. My current house has a living room, family room and 4 bedrooms. The new house which has an "open" concept that everyone wants these days. You walkthrough the front door to a small entry hall then you're in the kitchen, just past the kitchen is the dining area then the living room. No walls or indication of room breaks. The living room doesn't have a large area of walls. At the end of it is a sliding door to a covered patio. One side has windows and the other side has a door going to the master bedroom and a door going to a tiny hall to the guest bathroom and guest bedroom. Maybe there's a small wall where I can put a hutch. The sofa will be in the middle of the room. Cats will love that. Long explanation as to why I don't think I can move the entertainment center with me.

Is the entertainment center open in the back and finished on both sides? If so perhaps you could use it as a room divider.

Thanks for the idea Shir, but no the entertainment center is only open in the area where the TV goes. On the other side which has doors to open where I put bottles of wine, the back of the inside is finished but the outside has something stapled to it, like thin plywood or something. It's means to be up against a wall. I am going early in October to meet with the design center to pick out cabinets and fixtures, etc. I know I am going to ask if the small closet in the 2nd bedroom just be a wall and use the space in the laundry room which is on the other side of the wall. That will give me 2 big walls in the guest room. I'm taking a huge dresser/desk unit that will take up one wall and will get a king size bed for the other wall which backs up to the garage. The master bedroom doesn't appear to have as much wall space. I am purchasing the house without seeing a model home, just from the floor plan. But it is similar to a model and the agent walked me through showing what's similar. I almost feel like asking if they can put a wall between either the kitchen and the dining area or between the dining and living room. But I don't think that would work. I bought the entertainment center around 1987 when I bought my first home, a one bedroom condo. After my mom came over to see it, she called me after seeing an ad in the Sunday paper and told me Macy's or Emporium had a nice entertainment center that should fit perfect. It did. My mom had expensive taste. It was over $800 way back then. That's when I made up a working budget and figured out the most I could pay on the credit card I bought it wish was $75 a month.
