Okay Extended Fasters! The challenge starts tomorrow. Some of us are eating tomorrow and starting the fast after our last meal. I'm sure each of us will do it slightly differently. Tomorrow will be a no carb day for me to get my fasting mojo primed. We had 16 people signed up last time I checked. It will be great to compare notes and support each other on this fast.

debrafrederick that sounds like an eating disorder, please get help. Watermelon is nothing to be guilty over.

@ZenusWarriorPrincess while that is true, being afraid of watermelon is not normal, and being so afraid of consuming a fruit that you restrict yourself because you ate it past a certain time is also concerning.

One should know the entire story behind said comment before you go placing labels like eating disorder on it. I don't restrict nor am I afraid of watermelon or it would not have been chilling in my refrigerator. My days activities were hot and sweaty and I did not return to my house in time to prepare and eat a proper meal before my fasting time of 7 pm, so the watermelon was meant for dessert, it became dinner instead because we were too tired to cook. I was making a snarky comment referring to it as gluttony because I had two cups instead of my intended one. Now please go troll someone else's post.

@deb No need to explain to people that don't matter & don't know the struggle. I only included the video to hopefully shed some light on the reason for our choices. Hopefully, he/she will gain some understanding. Knowledge is power. 🙂

Erika and Deb yes I just did blood work in April I’ll have to check my results again…I feel like sometimes they overlook things in our labs. I was anemic for years I remember drs always commenting that my “iron was a little low” but no one ever put me on anything or told me to take iron until it got so bad and Dr Google had to diagnose me i went to the dr and demanded him to check my iron he called me two days later and was like start taking iron Today!! It may very well be electrolytes I drink nothing but water water water water and the morning cup of coffee but forget to replace my electrolytes I’ll give that a try and if not have the dr run some more test

Misty, you don Misty You don't need to get blood work in order to try electrolytes. It's just formulated salts. If it makes you feel better, you needed it. I can't fast comfortably without it. Using electrolytes replaces the salts that you lose when you fast. Drinking a lot of water washes them through, and you need to replenish.

So...how's the fasting going, Ladies? I will report here, as I am not "offically" in the challenge in the forum. Yesterday was a little rough for me. I had to cook for the kids 4 times & my knee baby & his girlfriend was stewing in the kitchen as well. My hunger normally hits around 4, so I try to have the kids fed by then & something precooked for them for later when I'm fasting. Wouldn't you know it, that's exactly when my son & his gf went in there stewing & brewing...😆. I took a walk to get away for a minute. I came back with peace of mind & no hunger. No hunger this morning. -1.2 lbs this morning. I will officially record my total loss at the end of the fast.

Good job getting out of the house at that hunger moment. I was a little sad yesterday when my husband fixed himself some dinner, and I was a little hungry. But that's the thing about hunger on a fast: it passes. I 'm allowing myself some Zevia (stevia sweetened root beer). I water it down to use it as water flavoring - one can for the day, but I find that bubbles help me feel less hungry.

👍👍👍@ Zen, @Misty it sounds like you have targeted most of the problem, I checked my nutrition for the past few weeks in the FS Phone app reports, I don't know about the accuracy of the info, but I had thought I was doing well last week with 12,923 mg of potassium and 9186 mg of sodium, however, when you divide that by 7 days you are looking at a daily average of 1846 mg and 1312 mg of sodium....certainly not RDA in either of those minerals, so I may be up for supplementation also considering how much fluid I have dropped in the past 24 hours.

@erikahollister…I’m going to try today. We have corporate fast for church for our youth today it’s 730am and I’m already getting the shakes. 😏I’m going to do a Daniel fast since I’ll be out in the heat a lot today and just keep smaller meals of fresh fruits and veggies and some coconut water and Powerade zero. I need to get some liquid iv or can anyone recommend OTC electrolytes??

Misty, you can make your own at home. I put 1 teaspoon no-salt (Potassium chloride), 1 teaspoon sea salt (sodium and other minerals) and the juice of half a lemon in a 1 liter bottle of water and sip on it throughout the day, don't drink more than 2 a day. Fill in between sips with plain water.
