I'll start with Marcels Dr report. He didn't have a tumor in his throat (thank goodness) he has Laryngeal Paralysis which means his larynx is paralyzed, very uncommon in cats usually found in large dogs. His vet is a cat vet and it's her first case. He has to go back for a chest X-ray to be sure he doesn't have cancer in his chest. That's what could cause it but probably isn't. Thyroid disease could also cause it ,but he had a Thyroid check 2 weeks ago and that was fine. But most of the time the cause is unknown. As long as he's breathing and eating ok they do nothing and he is. We need to keep praying he doesn't have a tumor or cancer in his chest. She would have done the X-ray today but it's so uncommon in cats she had to research it first.
I really worried because the disease Merlin fought for 4 years was seldom seen. He was a happy cat during that time but it was what finally took him. So I worry that I'm just unlucky to have 2 with unusual diseases and may loose Marcel to if cancer is the cause. Please pray for him.
He did have high blood pressure and we started him on a pill for that, we suspected that because 2 weeks ago his kidney values were up. The kidney problem is common when cats get older. Sable our female cat has the same kidney problem and it started at his age.
As for me I have a Dr appointment tomorrow for my back. As for as my eating I guess I'm ok not stress eating today.
Thank you all for your prayers for Marcel. We don't have kids at home, my DH doesn't have kids at all so our cats are like kids to us. Their spoiled and run the house they own us we don't own them.

My lurcher Laryngeal Paralysis. If a dog could turn blue, he would have. It got so bad that he needed an emergency tracheotomy. As we weren't ready to let him go we took him to a specialist and had his airways artificially opened. 2 long weeks after the op he was back to his happy self but without the bark. He had the best 2 years of his life, so for us it was worth every penny. Hope Marcel is ok. Huggz

scmetterling34, thank you for responding. Sorry for your loss but glad you got 2 more years, every day that you get with a beloved pet is a blessing. So far Marcel has no breathing problems the vet says his larynx is in the open position but she didn't think he needed surgery if she had she would have sent us to the specialist which is one block down the street from her. We had to take Merlin there a few times. Hope he doesn't need to go there that he can live just fine with it the way it is we're praying for that.
