BuffyBear's Journal, 10 Mar 15

After yesterday's negativity I wanted to move on to positive thoughts. To start with, I had a fantastic weekend. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and we took Pound Puppy for walks on different nature trails both Sat & Sun.

But best of all I think I finally got DH thinking about healthier eating. I had watched Dr. Davis (Author of Wheat Belly) special on Public Television. All DH had to hear was "Cardiologist weaning his patients off their meds through diet" and he was all ears. I made him promise me one week. This is day 4 and he has not had one bite of any grain.

Been cooking up a storm trying to find recipes he'll eat. A few successes were flax seed crackers, pumpkin seed granola bars and strawberry ricotta dessert. Of course, all this cooking and tasting has taken its toll on me, but will get back on track next week.

Great to hear, trust your efforts to assist DH will bear "long term" fruit. (and just for the record, while yesterday's post had "negative" news, you did not post it in a negative way, just as a friend sharing her current situation :) ) We are always glad to get a "status report" with whatever info YOU wish to share. Have a great rest of the week :)

Sounds fantastic, Buffy! So happy your DH is trying. I wish my hubby would take heed but, he loves his pasta and his Italian loaf sandwiches. I did get him to eat rice pasta, so that is an improvement. Plus, I am eating better which in turn, he eats better ... at least when he works. He comes in for dinner and eats what I serve up. (poor guy!) Ha Ha!
