Happy Thursday to this wonderful FS community!

I just wanted to 'reshare' these 2 graphics today. They are the basis of what works for me. There are TONS of other tips and tools that I've shared & used along the way....but it all really boils down to these (for me).

Now that I'm in maintenance, I am still counting calories with the aim of staying within my RDI for my new weight/age. I hope this is helpful, especially to those new here on Fat Secret. (and to those who've been here a while, thanks for allowing me to share again)💙

I an attest to this. I try to eat eat around 1450 calories and burns after 1700 a day. Sometimes more or less but it got me to my goal. I also am a big fan of measuring out portions to the letter. And not robbing myself food items just eating in moderation. Like I hit McDonald's today but trying more protein, no fries and smaller iced coffee drink.

Great info as always, CrystalJo! This is the first time I have really paid attention to NEAT. I think it really adds up.

Yes neat is very important. It’s also a way the body preserves energy and you don’t notice it until you analyze yourself. So when people go on deficits and their neat drops they might think it’s not working

WisteriaSky, your strategy at McDonald's is a great one. More of the better stuff, less of the not so good choices & omit the worst (nutritionally/caloric) items on the menu! 👍

Jengetfit, it's been a game changer for me, who finds it difficult to "exercise" routinely. I actually keep track of my NEAT time on my smart watch (under 'other workout') to get myself up and going around the house, shopping, etc.

Good point Superman! Folks could be burning quite a few more calories every single day just doing SIMPLE little things around the house. Of course, routine strength training is still the BEST way to burn (for longer), but not all of us are as dedicated, disciplined and 'fine tuned' as the many lifters here on FS. WOW...you all are INSPIRING!!! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

writingwyo...I thought the SAME THING! But the idea is to just make the most of daily, routine tasks around the house (I think). Mini-squats at the kitchen sink while doing dishes? Bicep curls while the coffee brews? Toe tapping, leg jiggling while typing? Heel raises while folding the clean clothes out of the dryer? Stuff like that....
