Slept pretty good last night. No skunk smell. It sprayed again 2 nights ago when I was sleeping with the window open. Had 1/4 bagel for breakfast. Put more cream cheese on it than I intended, forgot 1/4 bagel doesn't need much. 2 cups of coffee. Left over pizza - 2 slices for lunch. My realtor is coming by around 10am to give me a better idea of what my house would sell for now. Last year when I was thinking of selling you would list the home and then look at offers within a week and homes were selling over the list price. That isn't happening now and prices in my area have dropped. I have a rare 4 bedroom house in my neighborhood and they are all huge so I hope that helps. I know I like big bedrooms. I could put a king bed in each of the guest rooms if I wanted. Yesterday I couldn't get the Covid booster but this morning I was able to schedule an appointment. I was going to wait until next week but since they have it now I don't want to risk them running out again. The appointment is tomorrow. I will call before leaving to make sure they have it. One more day of somewhat cool weather and then we had back to the high 80's and low 90's. Temps I don't usually like but after 110 it doesn't seem so bad.

I have never lived in a home that large. I always wanted a big home but then I don't like cleaning. I love bagels and pizza but don't have them often. I like the flavored whipped cream cheeses. So hot here. Miserable.

Thanks Morticia - I never really wanted a house this big - it's about 2200 square feet. My previous home was almost 1600 square feet. When I bought this house in 2011 every thing for sale was in foreclosure. I fell in love with this house and it was priced less than what the original owner paid for it over 20 years previously AND they added a large 4th bedroom after buying it. It was about $150k less than the house I moved from. I love that 3 bedrooms are clear on the other side of the house than the master bedroom. It's nice when I have company, they get lots of privacy. I don't like cleaning either but usually keep the guest bathroom door closed so it stays clean and same with 2 of the guest rooms. Sorry it's miserable where you are - I"m not sure if you've said where you live. Not looking forward to having temps in the 90's again. It's usually mid November before we can count on cool weather.

Yay! No skunk smell. Glad you slept pretty well. Hope all went well with your realtor. The housing market has been interesting and of course rates still rising. It’s 88 here today with a storm this evening and then we go into the 60’s for a few days. That will be nice but feel cold. Enjoy your evening!:)

Thanks Navy. My realtor (she was my realtor 11 years ago when I bought this house) gave me a price range about the same, maybe a tiny bit higher than last year. She said the biggest drawback is the oak tree I just had cut down. She says that causes lack of privacy between my house and house next door and around the corner. She says they can see everyone on my deck and I can see right in to their house. I had planted a pine tree that is still growing when I cut another oak tree down a couple years ago. It provides some privacy now but not enough. I loved the tree that was cut down and didn't realize what an impact it would make. But 2 arborists told me if it fell it would fall on my house, likely in the guest room I like to sleep in. The increasing interest rates are also a concern, not as many cash buyers either. Just have to see what happens.

That’s good that you have about the same price and it didn’t fall. I know you had to get that tree down. If someone really wants the house, I am sure they can plant trees or get privacy fencing. I think it will work out fine when you are ready to sell. I live in a neighborhood that I really like. I bought seven years ago. It’s the only lot with trees and is double size and the house sits back but knew there was a lot to do to the house and some trees to come down but I liked it so here I am. Seven years going strong with work being done. So someone will like yours too.

Thanks Navywife - my neighborhood doesn't allow fences around yards, so everything is open. They allow a small area with a chain type fencing for dog areas, which I have. My lot is about 1/3 acre and most lots are 1/4 to 1/2 acre. Some homes are really close by my neighbors aren't on top of me. But without the oak there isn't too much privacy if I'm on the deck. I've noticed my neighbor often sits on a little deck outside the master bedroom and as soon as I open my door to the deck she does inside, so she's always been aware of little privacy from that area. She is outside often, texting and smoking.

Maybe a privacy panel on the deck or they could plant a few trees. It will all work out!:)

Thanks Navywife - I'm actually going to check with a business in my town that does awnings The deck need something. Without any shade at all you can't walk on the deck in bare feet and Bobby would burn the bads of his feet when I let him out. It's hot on the deck. I don't know that the awning would offer any privacy, probably not. Also hoping an awning or some kind of deck cover would keep the master bedroom from getting so hot. Even in the nice cool weather we've been having the bedroom is much warmer than the rest of the house. So much to figure out when you own a home, especially one like mine where you can't put a fence around your yard.
