The heat wave is finally over! Hope it doesn't come back. Difference in temperature by the end of the week is about 30 degrees. The problem where I live is the air is unhealthy because of the Misquito fire burning about 50 miles south of me. Smoke is being blown to my neighborhood. So last week I avoided going outside because it was too hot, now the air isn't safe to breathe. Can't open the windows to enjoy the cool weather at night right now. But it gives me an excuse for another week to not rake the leaves and mess left behind from the oak tree that was cut down. My yard care service took care of some last time they were here and should do more this week, but I still have plenty to do outside.
Trying to keep busy inside when inclined to just be lazy. People may think this is silly, but it's something I do because I'm a lousy housekeeper. I tell myself to put 10 things away or take care of 10 things. Eventually everything is thrown away, filed away, put in a drawer or cupboard, or shredded. The kitchen counter is the biggest problem. It collects things, mostly mail. One of the 10 things from this morning was the subscription renewal for SiriusXm for my car. I do this every year. It was $21.84 a month. That's crazy to listen to music in my car, especially since I don't even drive 100 miles a week. So I called and said I wanted to cancel. The automated system offered me a deal of $11 a month. I declined and was transferred to someone who offered $55 a year (maybe it was $65, I couldn't hear him that well). So I took that offer. Went from $22 a month down to $5. I wonder what would have happened if I had said no to that offer. I have never, ever been able to cancel that service. Next thing to do is make an appointment for my eyes to be checked.
Grocery shopping tomorrow, need to make a list so I don't buy ice cream again.

thanks Morticia - it felt good to take care of the call to Sirius and I made the eye appointment. I cleaned most of the papers off the kitchen island where it all gathers. Now I am making a list of things to do every day. Just found out the lady who I call when I need help cleaning the house can't do it any more. I want it really clean before my trip to Oregon in a couple of weeks since I have a house sitter who will stay here. I hate cleaning house, but like it to be clean. Next thing to put on a list is to find someone else to clean the house!

It's sp fonny that you mentioned Sirius radio! I have it too, it came for free in my new car 3 years ago. Pretty smart, they make you ❤️ it then raise the $! I have a deal for the last 2 years for $99/year, & I thought that was good till you said your deal! I've done mine online, never speaking to anyone, so that's on my TO DO list for tomorrow! Thanks, I appreciate the heads up!!
BYW, I feel the same way about housework, but ❤️ it when it's clean too. I knew someone in FL who loves to clean! But I'm in NJ! lol Maybe I'll get a housecleaner too.

So glad the heat has passed. Had a sick cow during the tail end of that heat wave. I believe the cooler weather and the meds I was able to give her are helping, she seemed so much better now. And yeah, that 30 degree drop had me freaking out the little calves would all get sick too!! Smoke isn’t too bad here, but you can see the haze. Stay healthy my friend.

Thanks Hazel - I don't know if anyone has ever cancelled Sirius. I always say no when they offer a lower rate, then they go lower. $60 a year is just $5 a month and their original bill was for $23 a month. If I had said no to that I wonder what they would have done. Have to do this every year. I don't put many miles on my car but I do love listening to them on my trips to the coast. I've had 3 or 4 ladies clean my house in the 11 years I've lived here. The first one had a notice on the bulletin board at the grocery store and she was the best! The next 2 were okay, but the one I've had come over the last 2 years is really good. Plus she would pet sit for me and could give insulin shots to my cat. Luckily I have another petsitter. I got the house really clean the last time I went out of town. Made a list and every day crossed 2 or 3 things off it until the house was clean. Sometimes I would do more. I feel good if I cross off 10 items, even if they only take a minute or two each (clean bathroom mirror, polish kitchen table, etc) Realtors are good people to ask if they know someone to clean your house. Also, if you use Nextdoor.

Thanks Daddy. I could see a little blue sky between the grey clouds or smoke later in the day today. Maybe tomorrow it won't come here. Glad your cow got better and the calves didn't get sick. I get 3 bucks in my backyard every morning. They see me putting out bird food and they want to get to it first. One of them sounds really congested and coughing. The smoke can't be good for them either.
