I haven't written a journal for a day or two. Nothing new to say. It's too hot! I'm not going anywhere except for quick trips to the grocery store. It's supposed to get back into the 90's by this weekend and then to the upper 80's next week. Never thought upper 80's would look good, but after 110, well it's a 25 degree drop at 85. I went and bought some ice cream. I was able to resist a couple days ago, but today I felt like it was warranted after so many, many hot days.
So far we've avoided rolling blackouts. Can't think of anything worse than the electrical grid not able to handle everyone turning on their a/c because it's so hot so they turn the power off for an hour to make sure there is enough power. But I do what they want, stop using major applicances from 4pm until 9 or 10 and I turn the a/c up to 78. I've even gone around the house unplugging things, like the toaster and can opener. Not sure if that helps.
Hand the glass service over this morning at 7:45 to fix the sliding glass door from my bedroom to the deck. He put on new rollers and cleaned out the track. There are placed the vacuum doesn't reach. Now the door opens so easily I forget and pull too hard on the handle.
Bought some more grapes at the grocery store this morning. The little market in my town had them on sale. They have become my favorite fruit this summer.
