CrystalJo you are definitely the FS Life Coach. 🏆❤️ I always feel better after reading one of your posts.🌺🌺🌺 I think we all have an "idea" in our head how we'd like to look. The further we deviate from that vision the more frustrated we become. Accepting ourselves for who we are right now is so important.

That is correct @ Brigit0 - Exactly. We are always happy with other FS members success and tell them that they are doing great and they look healthy - that is success. To live a healthy life with a positive stability is a goal that everyone wants for themselves and part of striving towards that goal is self perceptions and acceptance of the body/form that houses us - Ill health is a huge promotion for personal change and that change would include shedding not only extra weight but the concepts embedded that lead up to self perceptions that may lead to an unhealthy life. Good one Crystal Jo ! Good morning to you and once again today I did not dock my sail ship - still floating around on the ocean.

I'm a little confused by the first one. it makes it sound like 36% body fat composition is better, but it's considered unhealthy. fat cushions organs yes, but too much is bad for your organs. weight is just a number, and we need to look at our health holistically. I love that we encourage each other here! we are all trying to be healthier and that's to be celebrated 🍾 ❤

I think they are two different ones. The first one is just pointing out (I think) that just by looking at the scale we do not really know what the fat percentage is. If we have a big skeleton or a lot of muscles we may still have a low fat percentage...It all depends. BMI can be very inaccurate for some people and some body types

Ah ok, thanks liv!

@liv001...thanks! I've been at a choir concert that my high school grandkids were in so couldn't answer the question...but you pretty much nailed it!👍💙

I think watching our body fat % is probably more helpful than the BMI...but it's harder to find out what that is! My scale tells me, but how accurate is that?? Do I need to get one of those 'pincher' thingies to measure my bf? Where do you even GET one of those??🤔

Oh boy, does this hit home! (the one about thought processes) I have encountered some strange thoughts about food. Each time I try to lose weight, regardless of how successful I am, I have noticed that the end of each journey is started with negative thought processes. As the weight loss slows down, more negative "feed" goes on replay in my brain..... can't do it, no need to keep working on it, you are a big girl anyway, so...., I have learned SO much here on FS, reading all your experiences. I am determined to make changes when I notice these thoughts! I am making plans now to alter my evening routine in order to avoid my most difficult period of the day.... evening snacking! In my experience with alcoholism, (not me) I have read the big book. Years later, now, I see a correlation between an alcoholic thought process and MY thought process. It sucks, but for me, I see the addiction to food much the same as the alcoholic has an addiction to alcohol. Our brains will convince us that it's ok to eat this or that. It's ok to get off track just for tonight - just for this week, this month, this year. Because ....._____________. (Fill in the blank) I am determined to change the way I think!! Also, because I am a Christian, I sometimes see this thought process as the devil giving me ideas that I am not good enough, smart enough, strong enough, deserving enough... ! LIES! ALL LIES!! Get back from me, Satan!!!!! Sorry I highjacked your post - it just really struck me! 🌻 🌺 🍀 🌞 🌝
