I would love to hear if others follow the calorie calculator on this app or if they eat less and if so how much less? Especially for the people that are trying to lose weight and not exercise!! I haven’t been exercising and eat 500 less this app says I should eat 1700 but I try to stay around 1200-1300. What do you do? Also I don’t count food types I only count calories!!

I think any calorie counter would be less then accurate with the vague activity levels. I used to think I was active and really wasn't for example. currently I'm allowing myself to gain but when I was cutting I used the number as a rough start point. it said 2700 I believe. I went with 2500 just to be safe and it worked for me. like everything in life everyone's body is different and we make adjustments accordingly. I also use a Fitbit and it's saying 3400 output most weeks yet on 3200 average I'm slowly gaining. not sure if this helps. just my half a cent worth. blessings.

Mine tells me to eat 1700, I normally eat around 1500, some days more and some days less-either way it is working. I don’t exercise either. I have just this past week started walking a few times a week. Good luck!

I stick to 1,200 calories a day and walk everyday 8,000 to 10,000 steps with my Fitbit. I am losing slowly I think. since I started 10/05/21 I have lost 16.4 lbs. but I am losing inches everywhere. Doctor put me on 1,200. FS said 1,700 for me. I don't think I would lose weight on 1,700. Good luck to you. Do what's best for yourself.

One more word of advice, eat real food. Calories do count for weight loss but eating real food helps you lose faster as well and not be as hungry.

I do not trust the calorie calculator on this app. I trust this one and I am having success with it: https://keto-calculator.ankerl.com/ I choose a 20 percent deficit from my sedentary calorie burn estimate. Good luck!

Since beginning this diet, I go by quantity of food, and limit carbs to veggies and occasional whole fruit. This has put me at just under 1,000 per day on average. This gives me a couple hundred calories to play with for an adult beverage or a healthy desert or snack. I don't eat before 9 am or after 8 pm. 95% or more of what I eat is whole food, prepared at home. If I eat out for a social occasion, I choose lean meat with a low glycemic veggie. Even when I travel (which is often), I prepare food for the road and take it with me to avoid temptation and to insure that I can stay on plan. Good Luck with your endeavor!

1300 to 1500 cal per day will get me losing about 2 lbs a week. I'm using the FS calorie counter, but really have to measure things close.

there's no calorie calculator that's close, how can a math equation tell you what to eat just by asking your height age and weight? it's easier just to track your calories burned and just eat below that and adjust as needed that way. even this isn't exact, it will take time but you will eventually find the sweet spot. if you have an office job or just stay home it shouldn't change much day to day.

And, the calories burned is off as well. I have walked the same distance in varying amounts of time and the program has come up with the same number. Just keep in mind, all of this is just a tool and you can’t go verbatim by what it says.

I went my provider and had a test done to calculate my metabolism. Exactly how many calories does my body burn each day if it sits there doing no exercise? For me, the number is 1,236 calories. So that's how much I fed it. Sure, I did regular exercise, but I kept my maximum intake to 1,236. I didn't modify it to account for exercise. It worked, although slowly. I'm very healthy too.😁

What you are doing sounds good to me, but exercise is awesome for feeling great about yourself and the world around you. I try to stay btwn 1000-1900 calories bc I tend to get hungry and eat more when I do exercise. The tougher the work out, the more I want to eat, but then I decide to just make good choices depending on what my body needs to fulfill its requirements for the total day. You can lose, w/o exercise, but your skin will get loose, flabby, & saggy. Working out, especially for women, is good to tighten up, firm up, and to just realign our posture(s). Make good choices and stay beautiful always...Amen

I eat less than recommended...I'm at 1200 cals a day. FS recommend 1500 for me but I just can't eat that much and loose or maintain weight at that amount.

I think keeping an eye on the macros and micros balance would be a good idea too. Calories matter, but your body needs different types of food, you can't survive on canola oil alone.

I try and eat less than recommended also. FS recommends 2100 for me but I TRY and eat 1600. Usually end up around 1800.
