One of my own personal goals is to keep my sodium intake within the recommended range. I also see alot of others on here post about avoiding sodium or lowing their intake, so I thought I would share this to maybe help others dial in their diet goals as well. It gets hard keeping sodium low and the more calories you consume the harder it gets. This bread right here is a game changer for me. I love bread and I usually have a couple sandwiches a day. And I'm sure must of us who read the labels know bread not is quite low sodium friendly.

Incase you can't read the picture below... This is low GI, 80 cal 5g protein 0g sugar 15g carb 3g fiber 0.5g fat and 0mg sodium per slice

Yea, it's expensive. I've actually been finding it at Walmart for 5.60$ . It is hit and miss, not all Walmarts have it but I always buy two loaves and throw one in the freezer for later.

When you think about how much it costs per serving instead of how much cheaper other bread is, it’s kind of a bargain! You are smart to use it if you have to cut sodium.

Thx for sharing. Never thought to look for bread in Walmart. Superwalmarts are a bit overwhelming big. I've only shopped in them when in other parts of the country.

That sodium number is pretty amazing for bread.

Oh, never thought about it before. Thanks for sharing. I’ll see if there’s a similar product in Korea too.

I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t note the irony of the Captain Crunch in the background…🤔 Sodium is an essential mineral…along with potassium. If you drink a ton of water be careful how much you cut out. Look up hyponatremia (sodium deficiency) and hypokalemia (potassium deficiency). Although if you’re eating Hot Pockets and Jimmy Dean Breakfast Sandwiches I wouldn’t worry too much😏

But for real…I can’t comprehend that you’d be worried about sodium while not batting an eye at sugar. People love studies, right? There are studies that show no ill effects or minimal effects on blood pressure with sodium consumption levels of 4000mg/day.

Check it out. http://www.cardiosmart.org/news/2016/7/too-much-and-too-little-salt-is-associated-with-increased-heart-risks

I'm not worried about it. Like I said it's a goal of my own to keep it within the recommended range. I'm aware of it's importance. And I'm also aware of athlete's needing almost double the recommended amount. I probably eat twice the amount of calories as you do in one day. I probably just got done eating half your daily intake at breakfast alone. The low sodium bread counter balances the captn crunch treats 😂

This is copied and pasted from that article you just posted. "Overall, roughly half of study participants had high blood pressure. After analysis, researchers found that sodium intake affected adults with and without hypertension differently. In both groups, low sodium intake (less than 3,000 mg/day) was associated with 26–34% greater risk for heart events and death compared to moderate sodium intake (4,000–5,000 mg/day). However, high sodium intake (more than 7,000 mg/day) only increased risk for heart events and death in adults with hypertension. Findings suggest that a low-sodium diet may not be for everyone. As other studies have shown, too little salt can be harmful in adults with and without hypertension. Authors believe current guidelines may be too low for the general population. However, that doesn’t mean that sodium guidelines should be thrown out the window. There’s no question that a low-sodium diet is important for patients with high blood pressure. In this study, high sodium intake increased blood pressure much more in patients with hypertension than those without. High sodium diets significantly increased risk for heart attack, stroke and death in patients with hypertension. Therefore, authors suggest that lowering sodium intake should mainly be targeted at adults with hypertension and high sodium diets. "

Ezekial makes good products !! I used to buy it because I saw it as the healthiest option for a bread. I also watch my sodium, but more emphasis on inflammatory foods as that for me is a bigger factor for inflammation and water retention. Now I am into buying those "fancy" loaves of fresh breads at Whole Foods. One loaf sliced and frozen lasts me a month.

I actually try to get extra sodium as it's a great supplement for lifting. HK3, you still at it after the post on your journal, or did you find education and these misinformed posts prior to being educated on the matter?

Rick and Diablo…as the quote states, lowering sodium is really only recommended for people with hypertension. If you have normal blood pressure don’t worry, basically. I say the same for refined carbs and sugar…obese people shouldn’t eat as much if the goal is weight loss.…this is where this argument started, Diablo…you suggesting to a 350lb woman to go ahead and eat her pizza after I dared to suggest it wasn’t a good idea. And she was only 8 pounds into her weight loss goal of 100 pounds or something…terribly irresponsible to encourage self sabotaging behaviors. That’s all…

Jergens, please don’t misunderstand me…I do not have concern for my fellow man, I loathe him. I do rather enjoy disrupting the daily grind by annoying the piss out of people though. Does that make me a troll? Maybe…but I told you I’m an asshole, so when you engage me that’s on you. 😝

HK3, nah, sabotage for a dieters is being too strict. She's not in a hospital setting where adherence is guaranteed. She's is a free living setting where strictness is guaranteed to make you fail because it just leads to an eventual week long binge or making a person quit entirely. Flexible dieting is key for most. There are a select few who can maintain a clean diet like Rick did. 90+ percent of dieters fail because they think you have to eat nothing but "clean" food all the time to make progress. It just inst true. Again, you're a novice who thinks he knows it all already.
