How is it possible that I have GAINED 2 pounds?!

I am no longer on bedrest. I was losing weight then! But not when I'm up and about. I'd love to blame it on the meds. They keep you from going to the bathroom, but that can't be all of it. I'm eating the same things that I have been, and moving a little more. I may have plateaued food wise, but I AM moving around a bit more. It'll be even more once I get a little bit stronger. It completely depressese me because it makes it seem like all of this hard work and denying myself a brownie, or not having to helpings and all that wasn't even really worth it. I've got to try to find activities that people with bad backs can do. I know they are out there....just have to find the one that is right for me.

I am going to guess that your meds have something to do with the gain. Do not get depressed things will straighten out and keep doing what you are doing, maybe try to change your food up a bit. Do you have a pool near you? if you do see if they have some aqua aerobics classes - I have an extremely messed up back and the aqua aerobics classes are really east to do when my back acts up. There is Aqua Yoga, Aqua fit and a few others but those are the 2 I have done.

I'm telling you... it's because you haven't pooped! LOL My weight can fluctuate up to 3 pounds in the same day, and that's one of the reasons for the change. I also would suggest that if your back is still driving you nuts, you may be holding fluid (or something to do with swelling). Just focus on how great you feel... I think that is much more important! Don't you feel so much better now that you're 20 lbs lighter?

Brandy, only 3 pounds??? LUCKY lol I can see anywhere between 1pound to 5 pounds because of that so not going to the bathroom plays a huge factor in the weight loss.

I agree both water retention and not going poop can add several pounds. I know this will sound like a commercial, but activia yogurt works, and throw in lots of water and celery and I am going in a few hours. There are several natural diaretics like coffee and cucumbers that will make you pee. Your body is just in shock from bewing up and around now. You will get back into your weight loss. Don't give up and binge or be depressed. Just ease back into routine. Your body will figure it out:) Melissa
