Plantains. Dangerous stuff, especially the sweet one. Tried the healthier version boiled. Couldn't do the switch.

Don't do it ridemariel , ACB is right it's a bit too caloric as best way to have them is when fried and they do absorb quite a lot of oil..they also don't fill you as much, but I do love them from time to time - I shouldn't bring them into my pantry but I did , and they were good..hm mixed feelings xD

Had this post in the back of my mind for anyone who wants this but cut some calories. It's a process. Steam the sweet plantain, toss in oil that can tolerate high high temp. Air fry. It's a thought for anyone who wants to cook it. As I'm the only clean up person in my house, I'll skip as there are other recipes I have in my head to try.

We are having plantains tonight for dinner. We fry them most of the time but baked is good too. We don't eat them very often because of the reasons ACBelle and 13dias stated but with moderation they are good!!!
