Hey there guys and gals--just sharing a thought for those who are bouncing around to consider. Most of us have adopted a weigh-in schedule. Some do it daily, some morning and evening, some do it weekly, and some just go by how their wardrobe feels. None are either right or wrong and if you find success then one way is as good as the next. I weigh-in weekly; choose a specific point on Monday morning to weigh-in. Why? This is my philosophy. If I'm afforded many opportunities to weigh-in, I see many opportunities to make course corrections. Especially since I know a weigh-in can be askew due to sodium and water-weight. I justify that I had an off day and the scale isn't really reflecting what's actually going on. Therefore, I might not be as guarded and justify that I have numerous opportunities to make course corrections throughout the week. I'm a professional procrastinator and can put diligence off until the last moment. thus causing wither a stalemate or rise in weight loss or gain. Weekly weigh-ins are a very good indicator of what’s actually going on, and it also keeps the scale slightly lingering in the back of my mind that "Monday morning is coming." Just my 2 cents on why I choose weekly. When I'm good, and I have been for years (life sidelined me for about three years) it has pretty much worked for me.

Monday is a really good idea. I was doing Friday then wondering after pizza weekend why weight was up 5lbs. I'm going to try the same! thanks for the idea 💡

You are back since Aug 16! Fat Secret browser site "Show activity from...Feature" is quite strange, you should be among featured. It "forgets". It is not a long time ago that some members were wondering about old members that disappeared. You were among them. They have not realized your come back! Anyway, how is your back? Push ups...how many?

JC. you are right. Friday weigh-ins can lead to a sabotage celebration over the weekend. I like Mondays.

Tassos67 I have two torn discs and a healthy amount of osteoarthritis (old people get--lol). I tried to return once but my back simply wouldn't tolerate it. I think it was either the dead-life or ab wheel that did me in. I study both intensively and committed to a really gradual reintroduction of both. I'm currently doing well and making weekly gains, but also taking my time. I'm back up to 20 pull-ups  Thanks for asking.

I weigh daily, because water weight fluctuations, if I catch them at the wrong time, discourage me. However! It's not for everyone- when I weigh daily, I see daily water weight fluctuations, so I count on my averaging app (Libra) to give me the rolling average, so the spikes don't bother me as much. This way also gave me the information about the water weight I gain around my period and ovulation day, which is so helpful to put in context.

Good recommendation. However I weigh when I remember to... lolol. I've found that weight fluctuates throughout the day let alone day by day due to any number of factors. I use it to see my trending over a period of time. My ocd would eat me alive if I weighed every day or on a schedule. Hopefully for your spine, you've discovered Dr Stuart McGill. He transforms lives. He did mine.

I weigh every day out of habit but I definitely do not record every .1 or .2 change. I only log it if it is a change either up or down. The in between are pretty meaningless for the reasons that have been stated.

Up or down of .5 lb. —— opps, my bad. I can’t type as fast as my brain thinks.
