Mer, they can be very 🔥. There are various degrees of heat, usually mild to XXX hot. I'm not sure about these because they were given to us, but they might be a variety called Big Jim. We will soon find out how hot they are. Roasting them today. You can control the heat somewhat by removing the veins and seeds, but sometimes that doesn't matter much.

It sure is JP! Even raw, the smell is amazing. It's been raining here , so roasting will take place inside. My sinuses should stay clear for a few days after the roasting. 👍😄👃

Thanks Kat, Andrew and Gib. Shred, you're welcome. Pretty easy to cook with them, but some simple precautions are wise when handling the chile so you don't burn your eyes. 😊

I did it during a super bowl party. Making guacamole. Horrible experience. Wasn’t ignorant, just sloppy and in a rush. Good lesson.

You guys are funny. 😄 I've done some of that too. No rain, so Joe is roasting them outside. He's never done any of those , but he grew up with the stuff. 🌶💚

Joe is the one that roasted them. He was home after all. He bagged them and froze them, but had six leftover, so he made chile rellenos, which are stuffed chiles fried with a battered coating. He said some were hot and some mild. My stomach was acting up today, so I haven't tasted them. I will wait until I make beans and get some sour cream. 😋
