Estimating volume is very difficult. Our brain is not trained to the idea that a cube with 10" sides contains 1,000 little 1" cubes.

the FDA has strict requirements for food labeling with accurate serving sizes (even how big the font must be). In the case of your granola the manufacturer is in violation if the conversion is that far off between grams vs cups. Which product is this?

I think granola and oatmeal would be some of the most regularly wrongly entered foods. If you take a cup- even if slightly heaping- it can add on calories quickly. Measuring in grams is the only way and it is so quick and easy.

Zero I don’t think they’re in violation. There is a lot of variation in size in a bag of granola. All the big airy ones at the top of the bag are the first to be gobbled up. Not sure of the brand. Some super food one from Aldi that is delicious.

Shake, ah gotcha. In that case if you make sure you're the only one who uses the granola then when you finish it on average you'll have eaten a serving size overall each time :)
