I am onto my summer schedule now so this morning the alarm went off and instead of getting ready for work I jumped into my workout gear and hit the track. Way easier to jog in 60 degree weather than the 100 that it is right now. It will be interesting to see how this plays with my weight since I normally work out in the evening.

YES! and don't forget the benefit of working out before breakfast: it's a free 20 min walk/run. :) we are already burning fat from sleeping, and since no carbs for breakfast yet, means we continue to do so during the workout. :)

quote: “Our current data,” the study’s authors wrote, “indicate that exercise training in the fasted state is more effective than exercise in the carbohydrate-fed state to stimulate glucose tolerance despite a hypercaloric high-fat diet.” from http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/12/15/phys-ed-the-benefits-of-exercising-before-breakfast/?_php=true&_type=blogs&_r=0 but, we don't have to stuff ourselves like the study had them do. And I believe from other sources & my own experience that a shorter workout in the morning is just as effective as a longer one later, after eating.

I like working out in the morning - makes the day so much nicer. I have to remind my tired body that when it refuses to do it. Good job!!

I am on Hope's schedule and she decided 4 am would be a good time to get up. Guess both you and I will both get to see the sunrise. I hope you enjoy your workout! :D

I'm only walking but it is so much nicer before dawn. Getting up in the 90's lately and I walk on the asphalt roadway. Much too hot during the day. Though not doing anything today except maybe go to the pool and just float around. Pull my back yesterday and it isn't quite recovered.
