dear All,

day four of experiment, yesterday had a little too much carbs AND a little too much exercise, so i hope it will not screw up the experiment. Today weight gone back up, but that was to be expected after salty soup yesterday and remember it is not about the weight, it is about the FAT transferring to MUSCLE, so staying the same should still be a positive outcome. Theoretically i should lose a pound this week though. Today i have some muscle fatigue and pain, specially the muscles used with a squat. Thanks "Gary"! i am doubtful if i should do lower-body workout tonight... i would shift to upper-body if not for my shoulders still hurting from doing the lateral raises for the first time the day before yesterday ... so upperbody wants to rest too...

so no weightlifting today, sigh! i can go to steps tonight, but i am afraid that is to hard on the painful squat-muscles...
i'll ride my horse and think about it, that is relaxing (for me that is) and doesn't cost me any calories (*lol*) I can see the sun is out, life is good...

also i had a very good writing session late yesterday.

When should I worry about muscle? I'm working out 3-5 times a week (mostly cardio and toning/stretching with light 1-lb weights) but not sure when I should actually hit the gym. Am I supposed to lose most of the fat first?

Luc... there is no method to the madness. Just keep doing what you're doing. In a perfect world, losing the fat first would make us all happy campers. Then we'd not have to diet. However, that's not the way it works. Some people believe in dieting first then exercising. Many of us do both. Exercising burns calories which burns the fat. You're doing fine.
