puhpine's Journal, 06 Mar 14

Hello y'all,

Just 22 kilo to go, might as well be a hundred. Doesn't matter, i just can't seem to get the right mojo to get it in motion again... I'm doing great for 10 days, and wham hit a wall. Then 4 days all is well, doing great and WHAMMO there's that wall again...
And the scale is laughing at my face. Going down down down, and right before i get the reward in this case right before i drop below the 90 kilo WHAMMO there's a 0.7 increase. and down down down 7 times 0.1 down everyday, and WHAMMO 0.7 increase again.
I'm not going to say i tried everything because i won't try everything. I believe in a healthy non-depriving diet. Which to me means the same as some people call "If It Fits Your Macro" you calculate how much of all foods and stuff you NEED in a day, and then fill it up with "other stuff" untill it hits maximum kcals. But i cannot seem to stick to that on a daily basis.
I start t wonder if 1500 kcals maybe is a little too low for me, but on the days i do stick to it, i don't loose that much, but that can also be the result of me binging every week or so... which screws up every statistic i can think of...

Tomorrow i have a talk with a nutritionist, i wonder what she has to say about it, if she has anything usefull to say at all. Last time i was at a nutritionist i got the recordbreaking remark to just eat one sandwich less a day... F*** good advise... Really blew my brain, how come i never thought of doing that.... Well that was years ago, and tomorrow i am more educated then i was back then, and i have some solid questions. And i am a lot older and i hope wiser. So if she starts to talk nonsense i can just nod and smile and walk away... right?

Im down with flu, right now i'm feeling fine so i write my journal now, maybe tomorrow im now well enough to write, and in the evening i am more focussed then in the morning, the result is this epistel.

I want to thank everyone's support, i really look at the ones supporting my journals and i even check up on the ones actually commenting on it. If you are not yet my buddie i am happy to add you to my buddie list, i turns out i really like having buddies here on FS. It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling as if im not alone in my struggles. Which ofcaurse in the end we all are. Nobody on FS is holding your hand right before you open that fridge. At that sad point in time, which i guess we all have once in a while (or a lot like me) you really are all alone!

Now lets give eachother the tools to have strength in those lonely times!
i feel a grouphug coming up (*HUG*)

maud.

I have seen the same pattern, down for a few days in a row, woohoo, then a half to one pound increase.. it's to the point where I just expect it.. as long as you're going down in the long run, don't stress too much.. sometimes it is just fluid retention, or even being a little "bound up" will cause those increases.. if you raise your RDI a little, maybe you won't have the tendency to binge as much? I do much better losing on 1700 kcals then I don't feel so deprived that I binge. Good luck, and hang in.

I wouldn't worry too much. That seems to always be a pattern for me as well. That's why I only weigh once or twice a week. Then when I see a small drop I think its great! LOL Stick with it as long as you can eat 1500 calories! I work out faithfully with weights as well as cardio, but at 59 years old, if I eat over 1000-1200 calories, its a lost cause.

Definitely! And I guess find a better nutritionist? What we are trying to accomplish for ourselves is challenging enough to add other unnecessary sources of stress like an unhelpful or not supportive nutritionist. =)
