TXSnowman's Journal, 01 Mar 14

Good Saturday Morning!

I finished my first 5k of 2013 this morning. My time was poor, but it was a lot of fun. Didn't really expect to do well, considering the fact that I've been sitting at my desk 10 - 12 hours a day since the first of the year. However, I did meet my goals of ... 1) finishing. 2) not hurting myself. 3) not embarrassing myself. The funny thing is that I would have earned a medal if I had been younger or older. My time was fast enough to get third place in the 40 - 44 age group, 2nd place in the 45 - 49 age bracket, and 1st place in the 60 - 69 age bracket. However in the 50 - 59 bracket, third place beat my by over 10 minutes! Go figure.

Anyway, the first event of the year is over, now its time to start training for the "Climb for Life" in April. Since training for that will involve a lot of time on the stair-master & building up the calf & thigh muscles, it will also help me on my Grand Canyon hike in June.

Well, time to get to work. My first client is due any minute. I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend.
