Unfortunately this was supposed to be a 12 oz 820 kcal NY strip steak with a 969 kcal baked potato. Somehow I really doubt that small potato was 969 kcal or those two 1/4” thick steaks were 820 kcal. It was less than half the size of the 12 oz steak at Red Lobster and the potato was smaller even. Have no idea how to log it 🤦‍♀️

Looks delicious. I had steak last night also but I had sliced tomato and olives w Olive Garden dressing. I miss potato. Beef is dense so the calories do add up. By weight is the only way I can accurately record the macros and calories.

This plate was similar in size to Jimmys egg plates and cafe plates so not overly large or anything. Based on the deck of cards/bar of soap size portion of meat being 3oz I would say that this steak was 4-6oz. It was about 6-7” long and 1/4” thick. The potato was a normal sized Idaho potato you’d buy at Walmart (not baking size) so about 3” long and 2.5” tall opened up with toppings. That’s why I’m having issues logging. No way was that a 800 kcal 12 oz steak or a potato big enough to be 900 kcal. Trying to decide if I should keep what the restaurant says or log based on the sizes I believe it was. Hubbys 16 oz steak was 3x thicker and about 1” longer. Think I’ll go with about 6oz as I think that’s more correct. I like my log to be as accurate as possible (not including the tic tacs I eat lol).

Liv, we have two. One is quite small but it only weighs bowls or food directly on it. I didn’t want to put the food on it then have it dirty in my purse :/. I’ve considered taking it to restaurants with me many times but usually it’s just easier to eat half of everything then weigh the other half when I get home. I was still hungry after eating half of this so I ate it all 😝

I would estimate the number of ounces in the potato and log the potato, same for the toppings. I weighed my potato before baking and it was 8 oz, and much bigger than 3 inches long. I'd guess yours was maybe 4 oz. Do the same for the meat.
