Anyone have a favorite low-no-carb taco seasoning recipe? All the packaged ones are like 3 carbs for 2 Tbsp of the mix and that won't work.

I did and got annoyed with the ads in some of the recipe sites lol. Was hoping someone had one they had tried and loved.

There are hundreds of taco seasoning recipe choices with all kinds of variations, but a few common basics. Look at the ingredient list on your favorite packaged mix and customize your own portion. Just leave out any salt and/or sugar.

@jester I love you. <3 Is that for a bulk recipe (if so, how much each time you use it?) or is that for one recipe/meal?

Use Costco no salt organic seasoning along with some chili powder, paprika, ground cumin, and fresh garlic and S&P. Warm your spices up, they will taste better. If you need to break down the seasoning, it's on the back, nothing unusual in it. No fillers or sugar which is where your carbs are coming from in the taco seasoning mixes. Cumin is what makes that familiar taste song. It's also great sprinkled on eggs.

Newnormal, it makes quite a bit. I usually put the extra in a spice jar for the next time. Typically I use about 1 TBSP per pound of chicken or beef. I add some water to a pan, throw in the seasoning, mix it and then add the cooked meat. It doesn’t have a thickening agent so be don’t over do it on the water. I personally like it better then the package stuff and have been making my own for over a year.
