We had our first "hard freeze". Walked down to the garden this morning with a flashlight and salvaged the last handful of peppers. Our garden
season has officially ended.

I've officially given up on exercise. Am working through lunch again today and will probably work late again tonight. I'm resigned to being a soft wrinkly being.

Tracy - Sorry to sound so negative. Seems like every time if I plan it something happens (usually my job). I'm just going to stop making the commitment.

Buffy, it doesn't have to be a lot of exercise or take that much time. Don't worry about a big, onerous "commitment," just do SOMETHING. If your work schedule is getting that full, that's when you probably need the exercise the most to provide a mental boost. Park further from the store, or your job. Even if you just walk around your car 5x when you get home, at least it's something to get all those....what are they?....endorphins?....going. Hang in there Buffy....all work and no play isn't good for anyone.

Sandy - Again, I really do apologize for the negativity. I actually practice the above - like popping push ups off the deep window ledge in the file room and "pep waling" up the driveway. It is just that I thought I was ready to start a major transformation - you know, like on the infomercials? Maybe get some sexy flat abs to go with those size 10 jeans? Just not going to happen this month.

LOL Buffy you crack me up- Don't drink the commercial kool-aid and buy into the infomercial cult- You can still get your sexy on with your window ledge push ups and power walking up the driveway. You Go Girl!!

Awww - you CAN do this transformation - in fact, you already are transforming yourself daily through the choices you make - it is not all or nothing, just do little things consistently, and they add up to big things eventually!

Ya know...I so hear you! When things that we have to do, work, etc., get in the way of what we want to do...it is very frustrating. Totally, I get the pity party part, as I have those frequently too. Flat tummy & killer abs are in my dreams too. BUT, what I finally realized is I was/I do make myself nuts trying to get it all done perfectly, or my own twisted idea of what that means. Like, I would love to be able to run 5-6 miles EVERY morning, but sometimes I have to settle for a whole lot less. The old me may have scrapped the whole thing all together, but the new me...says, do the 1 mile, 2 miles...just do something. PS...take a good look at that fantastic looking lady on your FS homepage, & remember...patients!

Dear Buffy, Get your butt up early and get on your elliptical before work. No more pity parties. I know you hate your job but using that elliptical can help with the stress. Do it! ;)

Mom is right - easy for me to say! HUH I can relate. Once we have given so much to our employers sometimes there isn't much left over for us. You are a great inspiration even when you are down - just look at you! I'm impressed.

GG - You've got me pegged. I want to do this "perfectly" and that's not going to happen. BTW - I was only joking about the flat abs - unless you know a good plastic surgeon who works real cheap!
