abbadabba's Journal, 25 Jan 19

Making a command decision here and I am going shopping Saturday morning to get a week's worth of food. I have a shopping list that I modified to get a 7-day menu of 1100 to 1200 calories per day. I am going to follow the menu best as I can, but I know me, and I am going to log everything each day individually, otherwise I might go off the plan and not mention it.
Feeling like I ought to exercise this weekend, probably going to the gym, and there are dances Saturday and Sunday so exercise might depend on who wants to go where.
Trying hard to get my head back into the game.
Happy Friday!

Chris, good advice. Prep ahead is for me mandatory then I add some fresh veggies and fruits as many lose nutrients if done ahead. The general rule is 3 days in the frig, freeze some so you can re-heat. I am also single and live alone (if you call it that with the critters). I have never figured out how to cook for one, I freeze 1-2 servings for later use and am experimenting with canning some in pint jars as my stand alone freezer died last year--hope to invest in a new one later in the year. Cooking some chili this weekend: some will be canned some in the freezer. Agree on tentative words.

That's a super winning plan Abba!! I also like your idea wholefoodnut!!! I may invest in some plastic lunch portion containers for division of food myself.

Chris, no keto for me, not my thing. To try to fit the gym in after work and some days just home after work there is little time to cook during the week for so many. Planning and prep means having a quick dinner and a healthy meal on whatever plan. When married and kids at home the meals were planned for the week, shopping done (I lived out in the country no run to the store as it was 20 miles) quite often dinner started before work in the slow cooker or ready to put together quickly. (restaurant background) so prep is ingrained. Do to prep most restaurant meals can be done in minutes. No longer in the business but still think that way. UGG I do need to get my dishes done daily, my neck injury often makes that soo hard. I love love my kitchen clean.

Log meals ahead of time,vs day in advance, and commit to that plan. It makes life easier!
