I have been preoccupied with a few things this week one is to read a low carb thread on carnivore. The original poster is a man by the name of THE Bear. He is maybe the only one person to follow a near zero carb carnivore diet for over 47 years at the date of his sharing his experiences.

I have learned a lot over the past few days and it is helping me a great deal even though he himself does not have the same food sensitivities as I do. Instead of exercising I have been reading. It is amazing that a limited group of avid low carbers near zero themselves constantly buzz around the man with their negativity, not unlike I see here with some anti keto people to some keto dieters. But this kind of thing goes on everywhere, no tolerance for the different or non conventional idea's on a life plan.


For anyone wanting to learn a cleaner seriously strict carnivore diet here is the link. while there is a ton of great imput from many people and their personal issues with food worth reading there is a ton of "crap" to muddle through. you may for research purposes want to just restrict the thread to the bear posts. http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=287013&page=1&pp=15 though you will miss out on a lot of info on how to deal with ketosis based stalls.

I am to page 185 and I just got some interesting detailed info on ketosis verus keto adaption which is making me more comfortable with my own situation and I think is helping me mellow out about all the things I am missing while I try to heal myself.

On a personal note I am feeling 100% better. And yes no coffee or any other allergens are in my current eating plan (heavy cream and artificial sweetener). Just beef and water and yes I had a lot of chicken one day and it made me sleepy, which all and all is not a bad thing LOL. I am dropping my electrolytes and just using limited salt on my food. I am taking potassium and magnesium since I have been so dehydrated over the past couple months from reaction to my food sensitivities. As I go I may be dropping those as I adapt.

I dropped the excess water weight I gained over a couple days when I dropped the drink and food that I am sensitive to. This is all it was. fortunately for me 5 hour energy causes me no problem as a replacement for my much needed caffeine.

I am worrying less about how many calories I have as long as I have enough and focusing on making sure I have enough fat calories and keeping to just plain animal fat not butter or any oil.

Find your direction very interesting. Reading this, I get the feeling of a new Amber O'Hearn, George Washington (runner) and the like is coming to the arena. Also find benefit from hearing about your reaction to chicken. Just before reading this, I set my mind to having more beef this upcoming week, due to having a slight sense of a return of bad hip and knee. Feel pretty sure this is related to having eaten a bit too much Omega 6's the last few weeks. Will see if more beef and bit more sardines can sort it out by next week. Inspired by your direction. Thanks. Will aim to read that thread this weekend

Just an absolutely fascinating man. I haven't gone through the comments completely but enjoy learning about him and what he positions as the 'human diet'. Hope this helps 'with the crap muddling'. and for grateful dead fans he built the wall of sound that was so famous at the time. He is totally unique! thanks for posting that link Terrapin, it is much better to focus on the bear than all the crap I have muddled through, but so much info on other peoples thoughts has been helpful to me as well.

Have you tried soy or any veggies? Only Meat diet?

excellent plain. I'm with ya! I personally do a lot better with beef than chicken but I still have it for variety.

right now I can tolerate very little, my allergies and food sensitivities are off the wall. soy heck I can't tolerate garlic a week ago. I have definite problems with veggies always have, some I used to tolerate more than others until my system got overloaded. when I get the full allergy panel on my back I lite up on almost everything.

thanks Tom I am getting better every day and my mind is getting more relaxed over everything. Being able to eat without a bunch of bad symptoms is nice

Thanks Jenjabba, I have problems with pork too, amazing but even the pork belly causes me issues. Hopefully once things settle down I can use spices again

diddlee, beef has plenty omega 6 too, I can not eat grassfed as it is aged too much for the histamine problem I have. I get the bagged ribeye bulk and have them cut it up. I then freeze it and just take out what I need. it sure makes things simple.

Baskington, have you considered going to a butcher and explaining your issue with aged meat? They could direct you to a farmer/rancher who might be willing to sell a calf and you could have it aged however long you prefer. I’ve made a number of requests to our butcher and they are always happy to accommodate me as long as law and safety standards allow. Also by going direct to the breeder you can ask things about medications and what its been fed. Just an idea :).

I am not in a position to get local beef, I could get it shipped in, but I found sams club and they are very strict on their meat policy lucky for me. I buy fresh meat in bulk. anything 4 days old they throw out unlike major stores. If I don't see any packages brought out the day I am shopping I ask them to grab me one from the new arrivals. Then they cut it for me into steaks and I wrap them and freeze them when I get home. Granted it is not as cheap as I could get from a ranch, which most will only sell in 1/4 to 1/2 cow lots. Just me, that is way too much meat. This is a good middle ground and so far the meat is far better than what I have been struggling with at publix. slight reaction which is very manageable. I am hoping with time and things settling down that this will go away. If not I may have to eventually buy that 1/4 cow. I wish to avoid that.

If you do ever buy 1/4-1/2 a side of beef remember it lasts forever. Well not forever but I’ve eaten it over a year old in the freezer. Not sure if it would be considered aged or not. One beef, one hog and a couple wild game lasts us a year (I buy chicken to mix it up and our hens are layers so not much meat-5 of us). Mom would get a hog and half a beef for her and I. We ate beef or pork for every meal except breakfast. Also if a friend wants to go in with you then once it’s processed you can divide up the meat and the price so you’d only have 1/8. You can also ask for a smaller calf which we’ve done in the past. Just some ideas if you should ever need them. Glad sams club has meat that you can tolerate well!
