Well, the weekend slowed down the weight loss, but I am very happy with my first week's progress. It has already started to slow down and I expect that it will slow down more pretty soon, but I am anxious about nearing a plateau I always seem to hit around 30 pounds of weight loss. I tried to look at my previous food diary around my last attempts, but I did not keep track of my intake. Now I'll need to figure out whether the plateaus were mental, physical, if I just started eating bad again, or a combination of those.

You've made a great start! Logging things really helped me - possibly more than any other one thing. Your self-reflection re: plateaus will surely help a lot, too.

Thanks Candiss, I am trying to learn from previous attempts and the journal and food diary are helping to keep myself accountable and motivated. Even though I know weight will vary day to day, the food diary helps me to learn which foods are not worth eating, even when I account for the nutritional information.
