Day 24
Weight 198.6 (not a huge drop but indeed a "new" low this morning!)

I really didn't think I was going to see a "new" low this week. Last Saturday I was so pumped. I so believed I would see 198 or 197 by today. I wasn't concerned about the indulgence day gain ... but then ... well I had that one high calorie day in the middle of the week when the Dreyer's ice-cream attacked me from the freezer and well, it just seemed like it wasn't going to happen. And ... it isn't as "low" as I had hoped but still ... it is a "new" low so I am not going to complain too much!!

I accomplished a fair amount yesterday. Paid the bills (always such a joy!!!), wrapped the few Christmas presents I had and all the stocking stuffers (makes opening the stockings so much more fun!!!), ordered my Prime Rib Roast for Christmas, rescheduled a service appointment for my car, and watched Polar Express!! And of course I exercised. Watching The Family Man while I do that. It is time for the annual Christmas movie marathon!!

Today? Well, I do believe I am going to try my hand at making some fudge today. We always give some to the woman who does our hair (mom and I share her!!). She loves my mother's fudge. Mom isn't here today though ... so let's see if I can pull it off. She is enjoying her annual miniature club Christmas party today. Of course, being indulgence day, it is a good day to make fudge because I can then taste the fudge!!! And lick the spoon I beat it with!!

Not sure really what other things we might do today. Hubby is off, but he'll sleep, probably at least until noon as he worked last night. Some time this weekend I need to go to the grocery store, do laundry, and I'm tempted to peruse a few secondhand stores to see if I can find a nice shirt for our son, to add to the little group of gifts under our tiny tree.

If there was a decent movie showing in town we might go see a movie. I'll have to check. Last weekend there wasn't a thing I was interested in seeing. Hopefully something new is playing now.

Grateful today for ...

... the words ... "you know I love you" ... in the wee hours of the morning.

... seeing 198 point something on the scale this morning.

... only a few more days until the days begin getting LONGER instead of SHORTER!!!

... wonderful company on this journey of mine here on fatsecret ... my buddies ROCK!!!

... Joe Diffie's "Mr. Christmas" CD ... love, love, love it!!!

So today is indulgence day ... I think. LOL!!! Yes, it is ... I just don't really have any special plans for it ... other than perhaps trying my hand at the fudge. Need to go dig out the recipe and make sure I have all the ingredients. The trick is cooking it long enough for it to set. Otherwise you end up with chocolate syrup!! LOL!!! Then you beat it until your arm falls off. Oh but I love the taste ... it sets "hard" ... not soft and mushy. That is my favorite kind of fudge.

So, off I go ... practicing kindness towards myself. Remembering to be grateful for the many blessings/wonderful things I have in my life. Always being mindful of being patient, not rushing through things, enjoying the journey rather than being so focused on the destination, since the joy is IN the journey. There is no hurry. There is no hurry. There is no hurry. There is no hurry. There is no hurry. (Will that ever sink into my brain??!!)

Have a great day ... be good to yourselves and take care!!

I've cut it up and put in in containers so at least I can't see it anymore!! LOL!!! I didn't make it last year at all ... my husband says there is so much sugar in it that it makes his teeth hurt to eat it!! I'll give away most of it ... but a taste of it ... wow ... it sure was good!! And I agree ... it will come off when it does ... no need to set myself up for feeling like I've failed, right?

I remember making one like that years ago.....nothing better than home made.....so yummy.....my hubby wouldn't let me give it away if I made it though....Yep that crazy weight report gets me every time.....but then my thought I started my journey last Thanksgiving and never ever thought I would have lost 91 pounds by now....it was just but a dream....and here I am living that dream....the time has flown by......so the next pounds will be the same....only not a dream now as I know it will happen no doubts......

Not asking for the recipe-it's killing me! I LOVE fudge and have not had any in years and years. AND I am not baking or cooking this year. Why then, do you ask, did I stock up on eggs, butter, flour, sugar, crystalized ginger, cocoa, etc? Hmmmm. Anyhoo, great with today's low. You are getting there exactly when you get there. I have to find a way to incorporate the phrase "and then I licked the spoon I beat it with" In my daily vernacular. It has such a delicious ring to it!

198.6...NICE! And FUDGE to top it off...it just doesn't get any better than that! I think I got a chocolate and sugar high just reading about it. Have lots-a fun having lots-a fudge.

Dens ... I'm smirking ... can you see??? LOL!! Sharon asked for the recipe ... I sent it to her on facebook. I would be happy to share ... it is the BEST fudge in the WORLD!!! And according to our calorie counter here ... a one cubic inch square is a mere 90 calories!! Less than most alcoholic beverages, right? (I know, I know ... who can eat just one cubic inch square? But then who can have just one margarita??)

LOL, in the big scheme of things, 11 months is nothing, right? :) Congrats on your new low. Well done. My experience has shown that the "big" loss comes on the morning of your Indulgence Day - it happens to me pretty much every week. Then, suddenly a week doesn't show much. Maybe even two weeks. Drives you crazy. And THAT's when you experience a 3-4 lbs loss the next week. Things get so unpredictable, but what I see is that we still keep losing weight.

Great on the accomplishments, Carol, and the new low. Enjoy your indulgence day, as indulgence days are meant to be enjoyed.

I am happy dancing here .... all I see is 198 ... and last week you were in the 200's. I know it's a roller coaster of weight recordings...but, you are losing!!!! AWESOME! .... AND you are eating FUDGE!!! I LOVE FUDGE!! (and Brownies and chocolate anything!) Starting the new year... I need to get with Keld and you and talk about this diet... if I can handle the days you can eat fudge and ice cream... it would be a stretch, but *cough, cough* I could try hard to do it. LOL!

LOL!!! Everyone is different, unique ... and what works for one person doesn't for someone else. So far, three weeks into this, I am liking this approach to eating for life. During the week it is fairly easy to keep the calories down. I have one day a week I can look forward to indulging and know that it actually is helping my weight loss, not hindering it. My weight already fluctuates madly so the up fluct from indulgence day doesn't really trouble me all that much. And ... I don't really experience cravings the day after. I just put away all the temptations until next week!!! Love the fact I can enjoy without going "off" plan!!!
