hate it when that happens! Normally for me it is something that I ate that is out of my normal woe and some might be water weight or just my body getting use to the change, or maybe I ate bigger portions late, I really need to stop late night eating. I know it can be frustrating and sometimes you, or at least I would feel, " oh why bother" but hang in there, your body will figure it out and the 'up' arrow will go DOWN :-)

write down a food plan the night before and then do not vary...that is what works for me.

Our body is made up of 60% water. So many things will cause the scale to go up and down all day long. Google "why the scale lies" for insight. It may have been hormones, too much sodium, higher caloric day, etc. Just keep on going and stay hydrated. Exercise can also cause muscles to retain water.

do yourself a favor don't weigh daily, it'll drive you nuts, I weigh once a month @ the Dr., once a week at home. I like the surprise . tweaking the diet takes time for your brain to catch up. Hang in there ;-)

One suggestion given to me was eating 5:2. Eat my regular calories 5 days, then on 2 non consecutive days cut calories to no more than 500. Also, IF (intermittent fasting) can help if you are able to put off breakfast til later. Another thing, is it time to reduce calories a bit since you've had such awesome weight loss so far? Good Luck!

Extra sodium can add a lot on the scale. Water retention is real, i went up almost 8 pounds after a high sodium intake day.

A jump like that usually means water retention from too much sodium or too many bad carbs (sugar) from things like bread.

High sodium will do it...could be water weight? Also maybe is it possible you may be building muscle from exercise? This too may be it. You have lost an incredible amount of weight! Good job! My weight is always fluctuating too!

Thanks for all the great support. 1. It has been pretty hot here in Boston and I am hoping that some of it is water weight. I just had vein surgery on both my legs so I am hoping that takes care of some fo the swelling I used to get all the time. But this isn't a good sign.... 2. I am not a huge salt person EXCEPT I use a lot of red hot sauce which I know is bad but I have for a long time so its not a recent change. I actually thought that I had read there was a need for salt in Atkins I might be wrong. 3. Does anyone know how to lower the calories allowed on Fatsecret that would probably help me with cutting down my daily intake. 4. I think I would feel terrible only eating 500 a day but did you lose weigh and just do it a short amount of time? 5. I really hate exercise and avoid it so I doubt that muscle weight is the problem. I choose to get up carbs almost totally instead of exercising Thanks again for all the support and motivation. I really want to drop this last 25 lbs and then just try to maintain. I was really hoping to be there by the end of summer but I doubt that now.
