Well I decided over the weekend that I am going to give the Whole 30 a try. Two of my coworkers are doing it, so I will have support and motivation with them. Surprisingly though, I haven't received too much support. I mean generally I'm pretty sure people could care less about my food choices, but I had an old coworker tell me that she doesn't think its a good idea to deprive myself and that "some people just aren't meant to be skinny."I had another Facebook friend tell me that the best way to eat is IIFYM and no other eating plan is comparable. And my trainer friend, the one I do Crossfit with, is completely against it. She tells me its "not sustainable and a bad idea." I totally understand where she's coming from. Personally, I also think its completely unsustainable. But right now I need something to get me on the right track as far as food goes, and I find the best way to do that is to get on a pretty restrictive meal plan. If I let myself be wishy washy, I don't stick to it, and ultimately I start binging. I feel like this will at least get me on the right path, especially if I start seeing some type of drop.

I made sure to excessively food prep, especially in the snack department. Lots of veggies, fruits and almonds. Salad for lunch, roasted veggies as well, and for dinner I may do salmon or chicken, I haven't decided yet.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Xohhjeez, I agree. I don't believe that any diet is, or should be, the same forever. You should adjust what you eat and the amount and type of exercise that you do based on current needs, fitness level, and health. As for your current plan, I'm with you. If I don't see a significant movement towards goal at the beginning, I'm not as motivated to keep with it. I think that you're on the right track. Use whatever plan works for you to drop some weight, then adjust as necessary to lose moderately until you meet your goal. Good luck. I hope that you have a great week. P.S. Your FS Buddies will always support you!

You're doing a great job of getting yourself back on track with good habits. From what I've heard about the whole 30, it definitely helps cut out some of the bad food habits. So even if you change to another WOE that's more sustainable for you, you've gotten the "crud" out of the way. You can do this! Let us know if you need encouragement :)

Sorry you are not getting the support you had hoped for. Sounds like you have at least one Frenemy. Insinuating that you are just not meant to be skinny is just mean in my book!

You are doing great - and I agree you want to pick a plan for a while so you have structure. Pick what works for YOU - not others.

I think she meant well, she followed up with some very kind words about loving myself in the body that I'm in and how you only live once so you should be happy, but she has always been very slim, and I don't think she realizes that I'm not happy the way that I am. I need to adjust my way of eating because when I had originally lost 30 pounds, I was very happy, and it had nothing to do with how slim I was, it had to do with the confidence I had in myself and the pride I had in treating my body how it deserves to be treated. I appreciate all your kind words!! :)

Congrats Xohhjeez on making active healthy decisions for yourself! Even if you don't continue the Whole30 beyond 30days, the health benefits are numerous, and then you can find something in the middle ground that works for you. Keep up the good work.
