madaboutmoose's Journal, 16 Dec 09

Yesterday was a busy and stressful day. We had my hubby's "prep" appointment to set him up for radiation therapy. It went well but by the end of the day I was really tired and found myself snacking more than I would normally ... I sure because I was tired and feeling the effects of the stress of the day. No worries though ... I am still in my range and given the day I did very well I think. Hubby's radiation begins January 4th.

Today I have to testify in court ... not my favorite thing to do. I will be glad when that is done with. It snowed and now it is raining so the roads are awful. Very icy. Very slick. Fortunately all my travels are here in town today which I am grateful for.

My five for today ...

1. making it to work safely this moring
2. hearing my husband say "thank you" for being with him yesterday
3. accepting fluctuations on the scale without beating myself up
4. even though the roads are treacherous it sure is pretty out
5. counting down the days until Christmas!!

Have a splendid day!! Be safe in your travels if the weather is challenging where you live. Practice kindness towards yourself as you journey along life's path and ENJOY!!!

Sounds like an emotional day for the 2 of you. I can still see you smiling through it all. Great suggestion about the kindness towards ourselves.

So glad your stressful day is over an you managed to keep things under control. Its a relief when its finally done isn't it? I'm close on your heels our stress day is tomorrow and then Jan 5th. I understand how you feel about court too. My daughter has a mother and child in one of her nurseries that is at risk from a violent illegal overstayer. Hope the rest of your week is better and you have a safe journey home.

I'm glad you made it through, good attitude intact. I know you have said that you have struggled with being too hard on yourself, so I am sure it has not been easy to maintain your positive outlook through this trying time with your husband's health. Great job!

Flaxseed - yes he got his tattoo marks yesterday. Next visit is January 4th ... 48 treatments I think they said. So five days a week he'll be driving an hour an a half to radiation and then back!! In winter nonetheless!!

I hope winter won't be too bad, as your husband has to drive that far everyday... good job on staying in your range, I know what it is to snack too much when I'm stressed out. you are always so positive, you are amazing!

Double whammy on the stress-o-meter today - Kiddo. You were-are a great support for your wonderful spouse and you were most likely an excellent witness in court. Enjoy your winter wonderland!

Thank you for the big hugs and understanding on my journal today. You always seem to 'get' what everyone is going through - and that's a very comforting thing. Add to that your warm smile beaming from your profile picture, and you get the ultimate warm-fuzzy! If I were doing a '5 things' list, you'd be on it! :)
