Eating out is so fun and then you weigh in. Since I will be out of town for work next week I will need a game plan for the meals. I haven't checked to see if the hotel has a breakfast and what kind. Any idea's from veteran travelers?

Always carry emergency food with you, so if what is available is not "good for you" you have something to fall back on. If you book your rooms ahead of time, ask what they serve at their breakfast. yes I know what restaurant we will be eating at, I always try to look up their menu the internet ahead of time, that way I can make my choices before being tempted by what other people are ordering.

I bet oatmeal will be an option at b'fast and maybe even scrambled eggs . . . I was recently at a work meeting (at hotel) and in addition to the typical 'cookie break/snack,' they offered Clif Bars as an option/alternative!

In my experience I stay away from carbohydrates, limit alcohol and concentrate on proteins whenever I am away. Also try to get in walking exercise daily - seems to help me stay close to my weight. Good luck!
