59Carol's Journal, 17 Feb 24

This was quite a week weight-wise. At one point I was up 2.6 pounds and at another I was down 0.6 pounds. Spent most of the week above last week's weigh-in. That means that this morning's weigh in at 0.2 down feels good. I really was expecting to have to log in a gain this week.

Calories this week averaged 1252 which is 40 calories above my upper limit. This quite often translates into a gain. Much of the high eating moments came in the evening which has been a weak spot in the past. I was in town 4 days this past week however I was able to do some of the town days after lunch and home before supper which makes a huge difference. One day was two meals in town. Two days were one meal in town.

Next week I have two days where it will be all three meals in town. That will be problematic. I will have to be very careful how I deal with meal time.

Generally I had a productive week. I had a general meeting of Restorative Justice, helped my daughter deal with some forms that were mentally distressing for her, met with two different groups around the Women Shelter's financial needs (business and a politician), subbed at the school, worked at my father in law's house and got two businesses ready for submitting records to the accountant. Those are just the highlights!

Doing steadily well . I'm always baffled by the various calorie limit differences between people... Makes sense about lifestyle and exercise affecting the number, but what I'm specifically in awe about is that I registered as basically static lifestyle, and fat secret gave me a 2500cal limit, and I lose weight if I stick to it.... You mentioned 1250 and I was astonished! 🍽️ ⚖️ 📉 😲🤔👍

You're so busy, I'm amazed you even find time to eat! Well done on the drop, down is always a win. Good luck next week, I know you'll handle it well.

Louise I can only assume that I am somehow counting/not counting calories correctly. I find if I use 1185 to 1210 as the number I am aiming for I get a 1-2 pound loss per week. I suspect my actual intake must be larger however I seem to be consistent in how I err in counting! Make sense?

Thanks for your encouragement Shirfleur. I find I am happiest when I am 'doing'. My daughter figures that if things start slowing down for me, I find more things to put my energy into. She is probably right!

You are a busy woman which is great but I can see where meal planning could be difficult to maintain.

Diana- truly I need to be creative when planning. I also find if I have a couple of go-to meals at the local restaurants and some frozen individual meals in the freezer I do better. I tend to eat the same meals at home for weeks on end mostly because I don't want to figure out something different! I never thought I would say that! I have always been a home cook and now I often don't feel like bothering. Funny how things change.
