it pains to record this weigh in but the past few weeks haven't been easy, illness aside. This section of trauma recovery is TRULY the worst of it. I dread every trauma processing session, to relive the worst, to speak it out loud. Yet through the pain is the recovery, to let it pass through and release. At the other side of this EMDR target will be who I am without the trauma. Mentally, I will be at maintenance; that's terrifying as I haven't lived without this shield 🛡️. I haven't lived without trauma-its what I was born into. I don't know who I will be at the other side.

The meaning of life is your truth. You deserve to be your truth; to fall in love with life. You deserve to be someone you love. You are so much more than the pain. You never have to become it. You are setting yourself free. And as you do, you set others around you free as well. For our children learn their truth at first through their parents. They model their world based on those experiences with you. You can only do good. You can not lose when invest in yourself.

Dazey, Be encouraged that The Lord will see you through this difficult time and we will be with you to pray for you and believe that you will come out better than you can imagine. 👐🏾 I too have been the victim of childhood trauma and as an adult, i faced the ugliness of my past. I found within me a beauty and strength that has kept me from becoming my past. Instead i learned through trusting in Jesus Christ as The Rock that i can run to for shelter, as the Peace that calms my fears, and that most of all He Promised to NEVER leave me alone. There were times in my healing when i felt like no one cared, but that was never was true and as i became stronger and better i found how much the abundance of The Lord’s Amazing Grace has kept me and will continue to heal my wounds from my past. We will be with you to see you walk in your new life as Healed and Blessed with Strength This Song “Amazing Grace” has always lifted me from the depths of dark times to the Light of a New Day🛐 🎶🎶 “My Chains are gone, I’ve been set free, My God, My Savior has ransomed me and like the flood , His Mercy reigns, Unending Love, Amazing Grace, Unending Love, Amazing Grace”🎵 🎵

My friend is a therapist that specializes in EMDR. I am so glad that you are seeking treatment for your trauma. I know it's scary (I'm on a similar journey), but I firmly believe that getting this help will improve your quality of life. Trauma therapy helps your physical and mental well-being. Good luck on your healing.

I ABSOLUTELY HATED trauma therapy. I always left there feeling worse than ever, and when I finally would get my 💩 back together, it was time for another session which destroyed me all over again. 1 hour sessions, pfft! It was like dr would get everything flowing, and the "Welp... Time is up!" Which made it even worse bc you realize that most of these people are just there for the money & could care less. Needless to say, I tried something different. Meditation works a whole lot better for me. Also, I realized that the problem wasn't entirely me. I was surrounded by 🫏holes. I removed them from my life. Medicine & any type of theorpy can only do so much. The bigger picture has to be realized, and dealt with. Cut stress/drama when & where at all possible. Set aside some me time. The biggest thing I learned through theorpy is how important self-care is!

Have you ever looked into meditations & meditation music on YouTube for whatever emotion you're struggling with? You have absolutely nothing to lose by trying it, if not.

I do both talk and EMDR(eye movement desensitation reprogramming) to allow my body to process said trauma, WAY different then talk therapy alone and 95% effective... Ill try that too. Lately, im using the app called balance for the meditations, i saw they are offering their entire app for free for a year. It adjust your meditation based on what you need by answering a few questions before the mediation starts. Never seen anything like this.

i would listen to Skeed on YouTube as background music on my TV while cleaning, or sitting at my desk and whatnot.

That app seems pretty awesome! I also play calming music aloud in the house when my kids/grandkids get wound up. They have no idea that it's trickery! 🤣

Calming scents, like lavender (googld for complete list), placed in the house is something else that you might want to experiment with.

Lol exactly 😅 Yes, its tough, but i do feel tremendously better, i just dont realize it until a few sessions later. Its weird how it works, i recommend checking out "The body keeps the score"; you can find audios on YouTube about it also, might be quicker then reading. The extensive research that Bessel van der kolk has put into trauma and its affect on the body is quite legendary for the time period he did it in.

Ah, aromatherapy! I did do that for a while and realized it messes with my asthma, unfortunately... Same with aerosol.
