Down 28 lbs. 6.8 pounds left to hit my first goal. 11.8 pounds total to hit my second goal. This is where I anticipate a slow down in the weight loss. This has always been the hardest part for me. I am trying to make sure I have variety in my workouts so I don't get bored. Strength training and cardio(stationary bike, running).

Family party tonight. No control over the food being served. Local barbeque place is catering the party. Hoping there are some healthy choices. Another obstacle is that dinner isn't being served until 7-7:30 pm. Afraid I will be starving by then and want to eat everything that isn't bolted down. Gathering is small enough that they will notice if I don't eat anything (if I ate dinner earlier at home). Thinking about eating an apple or something small before I leave for the party so I am not starving when we get to the party. Any suggestions?

Definitely eat before the event and then pick protein (meat) and avoid the extras if possible - but most of all, have a great visit with your family!

Watch out for the BBQ sauce. If it has honey and sugar it will be high carb and high calorie. I would definitely eat first and tell the truth. You just couldn't wait to have something and now you're just not so hungry. Then you can at least have small portions. I don't know what diet you're on but I use Atkins and as much as I'd love BBQ, it would be a nightmare at this stage. I'd have to stick to salad and try to shred the meat and only eat the unsauced part.

Thanks for all the feedback/suggestions. I posted a new journal entry today writing about how I did last night. I think I did pretty well. Yeah!
