Excited about the loss this morning! I'm sure some of it is water weight but I still like to see the scale move. I'm having some friends over this evening for dinner for the first time since starting watching what I'm eating and I'm a little concerned since we have always drank together and had snacks. I'm not loving the idea of letting them know that I'm on a diet. I don't know why, it's like owning up to something bad I've done in the past even though they can obviously see it. I'm making lighter choices for dinner and putting out a veggie tray and chips (for them) so I think I have planned pretty well. Wish me luck!

Just tell them you are watching what you eat and you are making some life changes with your diet. Dieting is not the mind set you want. If we say we are on a diet, then that concludes that when we are done dieting we will go back to our old eating habits. That is what I told my daughter last night when she asked me if I was on a diet. I am determined to lose and keep it off this time. You can too.

Sorry, you're right. I've told my kids that I'm trying to get healthy and made sure I haven't used the "D" word. Slip of the fingers.

That's awesome!! grats on the loss. I have my best friend visiting for the weekend. She just gotten out of a year relationship, so she wants to go out in the city. My bf and I gave up alcohol because we don't like how our body's react to it. AND I hate that lethargic feeling. You don't have to tell them you are on a diet. If you are avoiding something just say it makes you have cramps. My excuse for no alcohol is that it makes my stomach ache OR I plan to telling her I am drinking but when I order my drink it will be a bubbly water or cranberry with seltzer

Panigale that's a great idea! Maybe I'll just get some diet coke and since my husband is a rum and coke drinker I can be too for the night;)

Good idea! I drink coke as a treat (maybe once a month) if that. I think that's a great idea. I could even request a diet coke and tell my friend its rum and coke (even tho its not) I would prefer a plain diet coke over alcohol anyday

Thanks northernmusician:) Ya I'm not going to lie if they ask, but if both my husband and I are drinking diet coke "beverages" I'm thinking the question of if there is booze in it shouldn't come up. Good luck this weekend Panigale:)
