I'm doing a 3 day routine of tinned fish only. I eat 4 tins a day, it satiates me while reducing calories. It includes the olive oil in the can which keeps hunger down and raises ketones. It's kind of medicinal eating!
I find it tasty and keeps me from thinking about food. No hunger! And maybe 800 calories a day.

I’m just going to put this out there. Don’t do this for an extended period of time due to the potential for excessive mercury exposure.

It's just a reset. I thought mercury was a concern in larger fish from the top of the food chain. ??

https://www.edf.org/oceans/mercury-alert-canned-tuna-safe Just be careful and don’t go too long.

Thank you. I'm going with sardines, oysters and mackerel.

I agree with Katsolo. You also might want to double check the calorie intake because the calories on the can are typically strained without the oil.

Some day I might try them again. Dad used to make Sardines on toast with mustard and real butter. Not sure when the ick factor came in but I have not been able to get myself to try them again. I used to love them. I love tuna in water. If you are Keto the fat is good and carnivore the fat is good. If you eat a lot of carbs generally then the fat contributes to the sugar content and makes it more high carb than low carb. That is just my justification and way of steering clear of the flour, rice and pasta.

Sardines should be fine. It's big fish that eat lots of small fish that you need to worry about. The little bits of mercury in the small fish accumulate over time in big fish.

I’ve learned sardines are excellent for you. But I’ve also learned that going under 1500 daily calories is not that healthy. It takes about that for the body just to function.

Dave Draper suggested three days of fish and water for decades as a reset, and he developed one heck of a body. It appears some readers of the original post missed the “three days” part.

It works for me, let's hold off on the judgemental condemnation.

I enjoy experimentation.

I'm sure a lot of people couldn't handle eating that many sardines for that long, but I easily could, I love them. It's getting harder and harder to find tuna in oil. It tastes way better than tuna in water.

Sounds like a prefect carnivore human diet!

The USDA recommends canned fish. It's loaded with nutrients and especially protein. If you are cutting back on sodium, you can rinse much of it off. https://wicworks.fns.usda.gov/resources/what-do-i-do-canned-fish The mercury chart by the FDA says that canned tuna is low in mercury, as opposed to fresh tuna which is in the high mercury category. https://www.fda.gov/media/102331/download

I love the boneless skinless sardines in olive oil. I try to eat them once a week. I wouldn't try what you're doing because (it doesn't fulfill my personal goals for nutrients, probiotics and fiber, I also have to watch my sodium) but I understand what you're saying, basically a 3day carnivore reset. I would speak up if you were eating tuna, salmon or mackerel, but you're eating small fish, so... Good luck and please keep us updated. We genuinely care about each other on here 🙂

Thanks everyone. Yes, Jenjabba, it is a part of a fatty meat carnivore diet, that is doing great things for my overall health. I got to be 125 overfat eating lots of organic grains and fruits and vegetables. I'm now repairing that damage by eating a clean high fat low carb, ketovore diet that is healing me. Now down 65 lbs.

Erika. I'm carnivore. No more bp meds, feeling good. It's not for everyone but i think it's great.
