mrsmole's Journal, 31 Dec 14

Day two of 20g low carbs again, and down another pound. Man, what a difference, both in appetite. I hardly have one because the high fat is so filling. I forgot that carbs are just like newspaper on a fire, fueling my appetite in big, hot flare ups. Even 60g carbs/day was way too much for me and made me think about food pretty much non-stop, and it seemed like I could never get full. The only exception seemed to be very high fiber carbs, such as raspberries and almonds.

At this rate, by tomorrow morning's weigh-in, I will end the month exactly flat, no loss and no gain, and that thrills me!

Bill, thanks for the reinforcement and encouragement. Man, I'm telling you, those evil carbs will be the death of us all. They are so darned good going down, but so awful to pay for in the morning. Ain't it the truth? I'm so sensitive to them now, that I find I'm exhausted and awful after something as simple as two pieces of whole grain bread with net 16g! Holy cow! It used to taking eating a huge bowl of pasta to get that "food coma" feeling before, but now, well, there it is. You and I will both beat the holiday weigh and be at (or beneath) our goals in no time, especially with such great encouragement and friendship as we have here. Happy New Year to you, too! Wholefoodnut, you are one of my most supportive friends here. Giant hugs to you, sweets. XOXOXO!

I'm not low carb, as you know I have tried it, several times. I'm all for doing what works for you!!! I find it interesting how if you stick to your plan for awhile, veer from that plan your body rebels. It doesn't matter the plan, it's that you have found a healthy plan that your body likes and one that you can live with for life. I feel awful if I eat more than a 3 oz serving of meat, I can handle a larger serving of fish. Complex carbs work for me. I can eat a bowl of red rice and beans or a grain and bean pilaf, last night it was a Thai chicken/veggie curry with a cup of red rice. 3oz of chicken for 2 servings. Sweets and junk foods now simply give me a little kid's tummy ache :)):))
