Getting back to daily calorie tracking has not happened and IF has flown out the window. I've been eating anything and everything I want to for the past two weeks, but trying to be mindful about it and just not fussing about what I should or shouldn't be eating. Have kept up with trying to have at least 30 different plant foods a week though and did well the previous two weeks, but this week it's only about 22 so far, but I have a couple of days left.

Trying to get to 50,000 steps a week has not been so successful with Google Fit acting up again and not tracking for some days last week and then again since Tuesday. I also haven't been out for a proper walk since Tuesday, but it should have tracked my steps in the evening at work, but zilch. Did over 10,000 on Sunday and Monday though and Walked up Mam Tor in the Peak District, which was quite fun, if a little crowded - and scary (with slippery, muddy steps to climb) and then did a fair bit of walking around Buxton too. No Meetup walks planned this weekend as hubby is working and I'll catch up on some cleaning, working and just general adulting stuff I've let lag again. Will try to get 10,000 steps done at some point though - although now that I think about it not sure how I'll track that - so it will just be a walk for a couple of hours.:)

Not sure when I'll get back to workouts again. Just feeling a bit overwhelmed right now so need to get back to routine and calm. Get some things ticked off my to-do list and put some worries to rest. On the plus side I did get my tax return filed and in time - so that is a win! Next time will surely be easier!

Hope you’re ok Nikina. Glad to see your posts again. Sounds like you’re finding your rhythm again. I filed my tax return at 23.30 on the last day. I’m definitely getting an accountant next year!

dont be hard on yourself it seems you push yourself really hard be kind to yourself and do what you can its a marathon not a sprint may you be happy

hi @Nikina70, reading your posts I always wondered why 30 fruits and veg? Is it just for fun to make eating vegetables more interesting or is there some scientifical reason being that. I am just curious, that's all. 🙂

Lol Suma! That is very fashionably late, but glad you got it done too! I had to do mine in hard copy form so posted it off and thankfully had a bit longer then to send it by - and I'm glad I used a bookkeeper - although I'm not very happy with the service received. Will probably need help again next year, but after that I hope I'll be able to file online and on my own. Hope you have a good week ahead! xxx

Thank you Samaddhhi! Yes, I agree that it's a marathon, not a sprint - and consistency over perfection is the way to get there - just keeping headed in the right direction.

I think you're right that I should download another pedometer app, Noorweightloss. Unfortunately my phone is aging quite a bit now and I need to find and unused app to delete before I can install another one, but I'll take a look. Randomly Google Fit starting tracking again yesterday, but I'm a bit fed up with it now! :)

Nunido, the 30 plant foods a week thing is just something that's kept popping up on the health channels I follow. Adding more colour to our plates seems to achieve and maintain a healthy gut microbiome and I just thought it would be fun to track this year as well. We eat fairly healthily already, but I can stagnate eating the same foods all week so it's helped me to be mindful about whether I've had some greens yet - or including some nuts and seeds and interesting spices where I can.

See, I didn't really think about gut bacteria... Interesting.. maybe I should try similar approach, since I'm known to have food fixations..

Thanks for your concern, HCB! No sabotage here. I have reached my goal weight a number of times through the years, but maintenance is a struggle for me and I know I'll need to work on that when I reach my goal again. I've been hovering just above goal for a long time now, but I feel like I'm in a good place compared to a year or two ago. All the best!
