I hate gaining weight especially when it is clear that I was eating a lot of calories and that is why! This week I gained 1.2 pounds. This month I gained 4.4 pounds. Totally not what I want but what I did.

I know it is the Christmas season but frankly that is one day and I was not dealing with the Christmas party scene. I overate on Christmas and the days following there were some leftovers... and so on.

I gained 3.2 pounds two weeks ago, gained 2.4 pounds last week and gained 1.2 pounds this week. This is so typical of me! I tend to not go to extremes (think over correcting a car on bad roads!) so I have been slowly (painfully slowly) dialing it back.

This year did not meet my goals on the weight front. To give context - in 2019 I lost 49.8 pounds, in 2020 I lost 16.2 pounds, in 2021 I lost 13.2 pounds and this year in 2022 I gained 16.2 pounds!! I totally wiped out my loss in 2020.

Looks like my goal in 2023 is to lose 16.2 pounds (ideally 19 pounds). Very doable about 1.5 pounds per month. I can do this provided that I don't have 'runs' of gaining weight. That really is the problem. I need to lose or maintain my weight. It is the gains tha make it hard (I gained 28.4 pounds last year but lost enough to make it a 16.2 gain overall)

This last week has been all about snow in my world. Christmas Day my 91 year old father-in-law ditched his car in my driveway. On the 27th I was barely able to get out of my driveway nearly getting stuck twice. That night a huge snow dump. I was effectively snowed in. I was plowed out yesterday at noon! I celebrated by getting groceries!
83.6 kg Lost so far: 38.1 kg.    Still to go: 6.5 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

Yes, you've worked too hard, I'm glad you're going to lose this before it gets out of hand. I'm so sorry all this snow is being dumped on you and so many in the northeast. Stay safe! 💚
