Diana 1234's Journal, 07 Aug 22

Holding steady..I am still tutoring but have been able to workout. It's been tough as I am busy all day but I am trying to bulk up so I made time. I went to nutritionist, no surprise, my measurements were off a bit from my month long vacation. Biceps 1/4" smaller, same with thighs. ( muscle loss) Stomach up 1/2". That was just poor diet...I restarted with my trainer, and I'm taking a group training class ( there are 4 of us) on Saturdays that is killer. 3 rounds of heavy weightlifting with pushups, squats, etc in between sets. I also upped weight in pump class. Did 100 squats with 25lbs plates on each side. Doesn't sound like a lot but body pump is about repetition to music so the average is somewhere between 15-20 lbs in each side. I definitely feel stronger and hope to continue this trend. I'm learning so much from my friends on this site , keep posting those great pics as it's very motivating to me!

Congrats on the work outs! I can't do pushups - my wrists feel like they will break trying to hold all my weight. At some point I may be motivated and less scared of Covid to re join the gym.

Fritz use a couch for push-ups then as you get stronger you can use something lower until you can do one on the ground

Fritz, It took me a long time to be able to do pushups. I can do a full pushup now but I started by doing them on my knees. I still occasionally do them that way when I get tired. Make sure when doing push-ups that your hands are parallel to shoulders. Most people put hands to far forward. Also like Superman said, use a step or couch etc to do pushups, It offers support and you don't have to go down as far. You can also do wall pushups. Google it to see correct form. Practice makes perfect.💪. Superman, your posts have been very interesting and motivating to me. I don't fully understand the carb thing but do find it fascinating. I used to think carbs and fats were the enemy. Thank goodness my nutritionist changed that mindset!

Keep up the great work and stop being so critical of your progress! Take pride in everything you do that moves you toward your goals. Each are celebrations. With my knees, 10 squats with no weight hurts. It’s all relative.

This is awesome Diana!! I enjoy having a trainer to keep me on track with my nutrition and also my strength training.

Reading the weights you & other experienced lifters can do sure makes mine sound inconsequential. But, I know I have to start somewhere. I'm pleased every time I complete a set! You are an inspiration, Diana ❤️😊

Babygottomuch, Thanks! I am very competitive, even with myself so I'm often critical of my accomplishments. I'm trying to improve on that..I know I definitely feel better both mentally and physically when I'm on the right track!💜💜💪💪. Redporchlady, thank you. I too feel stronger with a trainer and I know my form improves. She is a stickler on that and it helps!💪💜💪. Sherrye, you are doing great! I love all your posts. You understand the word "balanced" with your food. It inspires me! Thank you for your kind words!!💜💪 DP, I'm still striving to have a back like yours! I see your motivation and I appreciate all your support. 💜💪💪
