Nikina70's Journal, 29 Jul 22

Only started tracking calories again this week after a much longer than expected hiatus - seems my last post was on the 25th of June. Probably much needed. I'm not too bothered by the weight gain. It seems these days my whoosh comes on Saturday morning so I'm not too phased. I still have a habit of recording on Friday mornings although I log weigh-ins through the week on my desk calendar.

During the time 'away' I had a wonderful weekend in London and then plunged straight into hectic work load for most of July - but I'm not really complaining.

Yesterday morning I did:
HASfit - 30 Minute Home Leg Workout with Dumbbells for Women & Men - Lower Body Bodybuilding Legs Workout

And on Sunday morning I did:
Funk Roberts - Killer 35 Minute Dumbbell Full Body HIIT Workout (TRISET CIRCUIT)
with a 5 minute cool down session after.

I decided to try 7.5kg weights for the workout on Sunday and really felt it in my triceps for three days after. Need to do that one again me thinks. I also did a great Funk Roberts full body workout with my cousin in London and got to try out her 12.5kg barbell and foam roller. She usually uses 22.5kg total on the barbell, but I wasn't quite ready for that. I mostly used her 4.5kg kettlebells for the workout, but also tried 16kg for some moves - wowzah! Fun stuff!

It was so great to reconnect with a family member I haven't seen for something like 7 years - and find we both enjoy working out. She enjoys CrossFit though, which I'm not too keen on. We did lots of walking and I got to visit all my old haunts where I used to work about 17 years ago now. Much was different, but much was just the same - and I still love it all - in small doses!

This week I wanted to do 3 strength workouts so might do the last one on Saturday (counting Sunday's one this week). I also wanted to walk at least 5000 steps each day, but only managed it on 3 days so far. I know that can and should improve next week. I'll aim for 1800 daily average calories this week and then try to decrease from there through August. This week I've done IF 16:8 on the week days, but I think I'll have a small breakfast this morning and start that again on Monday.

This diary entry is a way for me to record things so I can look back in future. I do value reading others' entries as well though. I will just ask that people refrain from commenting with any helpful or thoughtful criticism or advice - I am not here for that. It upsets me when people compare how many calories they're having - no two people are the same. We don't need to compare our workouts or step counts either so please do not tell me what you think of what I'm doing. In the past it has greatly annoyed me and I do not need it. Perhaps I should just not post - or go private, but I like the spirit of sharing and I hope that I don't have to explain this on all of my posts. Not even sure if it makes total sense or just sounds plain bitchy. I'm sure someone will let me know what they think anyway.:)

Anyhooo - have a great weekend everyone!!! I hope all my FS friends are well and living large! Life is too short to sweat the small stuff! xxx

I understand completely, Nikina. I tend to go private if I am ticked off rather than getting into a debate with someone who just doesn't get me.
